Summer Mission Trips Kick Off
Early tomorrow morning, a group of our youth and their leaders--twenty-two in all--will fly out of Chicago, bound for Cuba. There they will spend a week with our sister congregation, the First Presbyterian Church of Havana.

Then on Sunday, a group of junior high students and their leaders--twenty-one all together--will head to Detroit for their weeklong summer mission trip.

We wish them all safe travels, meaningful experiences, and lots of fun! Please join us in keeping all these travelers in thought and prayer as they join in the worldwide mission and ministry of the church.

Those who would like to join in walking are asked to meet at 11:45 a.m. on the east side of Broadway, between Sunnyside and Wilson, at site 50.

The pride flag above our Sanctuary doors is further expression of our support of the LBGTQ community and is displayed through this weekend, by decision of Session, as a public sign of the welcome and inclusive hospitality we extend to all.

Support the Chicago Lights Urban Farm
Come to church this Sunday ready to do some grocery shopping!

Representatives of the Chicago Lights Urban Farm will be on hand during Coffee Hour this weekend with a variety of fresh produce available for purchase.

They'll continue setting up a small farm stand during Coffee Hour twice a month until early November. While what they have available will depend on the season, keep your eyes out for a supply of salad mix, turnips, radishes, cucumbers, tomatoes, kale, Swiss chard, or onions in the weeks to come.

cookoutA Week of Young Adults Activities
Conversation, Games, and Fellowship
The Young Adults group has a full calendar this coming week!

On Sunday, the group will gather for their weekly time of conversation, the Gathering, at 12:30 p.m. in Room 5A. This week's topic will be a sermon talk-back with Hardy Kim, who is preaching at 9:30 and 11:00.

Then on Monday it's time for the weekly summer outing to Oak Street Beach for some casual games of volleyball. The nets will be set up at 6:30 p.m.

And on Thursday, the monthly SpeakEasy fellowship get-together will take place at Happy Village (1059 N. Wolcott) in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood. This monthly occasion to meet new friends and catch up with old ones will also double as opportunity for the Young Adults group to say good-bye and thank you to Hardy Kim, who has been Associate Pastor for both Evangelism and Young Adult Ministry.

Young adults, come join us for one or all!
