Financial Aid Resources
Financial Aid can be reached at 541-383-7260 or coccfinaid@cocc.edu. Bobcats, it typically takes less than 60 minutes to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. The application is used for all federal financial aid opportunities, including the Federal Pell Grant and Federal Work-Study Program. And the State of Oregon uses the FAFSA to determine eligibility for state aid. According to this article on CNBC.com, in 2019 some 43% of families reported not completing the FAFSA because they believed they couldn’t qualify for aid -- while the reality, the article shares, is that almost every applicant receives something.

Through all the adversity that this school year has brought, our students in the visual arts have continued to follow their passion and create.” Pictured: Marceline by Moh Sailors, first place in the watercolor category.
Grant Expands "History of Islamic Civilizations"
A grant from the University of Washington is helping bring a redesigned “History of Islamic Civilizations” course to COCC this Fall term, coordinated by history professor Jessica Hammerman in collaboration with professor David Fenner from the Jackson School of International Studies. The grant focuses on strengthening knowledge of the Middle East in the U.S. by extending the expertise of post-secondary faculty. In the class, students will gain a depth of understanding of the foundations of the religion and the diverse Muslim-inspired cultures and stories throughout the world, connecting the past to the present in innovative projects that allow for in-depth discussion and creativity.
