Speaker: Sherdeill H. Breathett, Sr.
Community Leader, Public Servant, Mentor, Church Planter, Evangelist
Bio: Sherdeill is a bi-vocational career minded person. He's an ordained Pastor/Evangelist, Church Planter and currently serves as Chief Development Officer (CDO) for the Union Rescue Mission (URM), Wichita. He retired from Sedgwick County Government after serving 23 years as the economic developer.
Mr. Breathett is co-founder of Real Men, Real Heroes (RMRH), a local mentoring organization for underprivileged males established in 2008. He served two terms as a Kansas African American Affairs Commissioner, appointed by former Kansas Governor, Sam Brownback as a dedicated community advocate. He currently serves on the Mennonite Housing board as the vice chair. Mr. Breathett is the recipient of several awards:
- 2015 Wichita Chapter NAACP Clergy of the Year
- 2016 Wichita Business Journal Leader in Diversity
- Gave the keynote address at the 2016 Governor’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at the Kansas State Capitol
He has received the Butler Community College, Advance Kansas Diversity Award, the Sedgwick County Black Republican Community Mentoring Award, in 2018 he was listed among the Kansas City Ingram Magazine "50 Kansans You Should Know."
