The monthly newsletter of the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network
Hello, everyone! Happy New Year! We at TSPN hope 2021 has gotten off to a great start for you all. We are looking forward to this new year-- promoting new resources, implementing new initiatives, and connecting with Tennesseans in new ways. One way we are doing that is by slightly revamping our newsletter; historically, the TSPN monthly newsletter was called the Call to Action, and we are paying homage to our history by bringing the name and its spirit of hard work back this year. Here's to stepping up to the plate in 2021!
-Misty
In December, TSPN staff participated in the TN Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Service's #ResilienTN campaign. The campaign focused on promoting resilience in the midst of a holiday season affected by COVID-19, as well as ways participants were able to be resilient throughout the struggles of 2020.

Executive Director Misty Leitsch participated in a #ResilienTN panel, and other staff members submitted videos on what resilience looks like in their lives.

This month, we said goodbye to our East Regional Director Sarah Walsh; Sarah is moving on to be closer to family back home in Indiana.

We want to thank Sarah for her hard work and dedication, and we wish her the very best in her next endeavors. We are sad to see Sarah go, but we know the impact she has made in the East region and across the state during her time with TSPN will be felt for years to come.
We are very excited to announce a new addition to our team: Sandra Mooney has joined TSPN as our new Deputy Director.

An Alabama native, Sandra has several years of experience in administration, grant management, and team leadership, and she brings a wealth of knowledge to our organization. Sandra can be reached at smooney@tspn.org. Welcome, Sandra!
Memphis/Shelby County Regional Director Justin Johnson has a new office! He will be located at the Alliance Healthcare Services office on Whitney Avenue in Memphis. We are grateful to AHS for their generosity!
There is still time to participate in the Tennessee School of Beauty's fundraiser events benefiting TSPN! On Tuesday-Friday until January 22, you can participate in the free haircut event at the TSB campus in Knoxville. If you're a runner, you still have two weeks to get your 48.3 miles in via the virtual run! We can't thank TSB enough for their dedication to this cause.
Email TSB with any questions about participating!

Remembered by her mother, Jane Weaver

My daughter Heather was all about unconditional love. Despite being afflicted with bipolar depression, she showed kindness to everyone, always giving the benefit of the doubt. She was a talented artist, a sometime singer/songwriter, a lover of dogs, cockatiels and nature, and such a loving, devoted daughter and sister.
