Dear Primary School Families,

We are excited to enter our fifth week of the school year! It was wonderful to have so many families in attendance during Open House Thursday evening. For those unable to attend in person, classroom presentations are available through communication with your child's classroom teacher.

The Caught Bee-ing Good program is a part of our School-Wide Positive Behavior Support and Intervention System. When a child is observed making a positive behavior choice (safe, respectful, and responsible), they may receive a gold caught bee-ing good ticket from an adult (classroom teacher, lunch monitor, bus driver, etc.) that promotes good choices and at times teamwork. These tickets are placed in grade-level beehives in the office.

This week, the district is participating in "Start With Hello Week," part of the Sandy Hook Promise. The week's activities focus on teaching our students how to be good friends, empathize with others, and create a more inclusive and connected school culture. We are asking students and staff to wear green on Wednesday, September 22 to show support for this great cause.

Please note, that we also have picture day this week on Tuesday, September 21, and Wednesday, September 22. Get those wonderful smiles ready!
Sincerely,

Emily Mather, Academic Principal
Anissa Rosenwald, Program Principal

Please be sure to review the COVID-19 Updates page on the District website, which includes answers to a list of FAQs.

The COVID-19 case count dashboard is updated daily around 4:00 pm and is always available for viewing on the District website.

From the Cafeteria
This school year our Food Service Department is experiencing some supply chain issues with numerous menu items for both breakfast and lunch. Some popular items are on backorder with no known restock date at this time. Please be aware that we are adjusting the menus when we are informed of any out of stock items and we are giving students other options to choose from during meal service. We ask for your patience during this time, we are doing the best we can with what products we are able to order. Please contact me if you have any questions and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Chartiers Valley School District is offering FREE breakfast and FREE lunch to every student, every school day. More information.

We are also offering an a la carte snack menu this year for students who wish to pack their lunch and buy snacks.

From the Athletic Office
Click here to view the flyer for events season tickets. This pass is good for all contests for the 2021-2022 school year. Student tickets will also be sold for $3 per contest at home games.

Please remember that students younger than high school age must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of all District events and athletic competitions. This includes Friday night football games.
Start With Hello Week
We are celebrating "Start with Hello" week. It is an initiative to make all students feel welcomed and included at school.

There are three simple steps to starting with hello:
1. See someone alone
2. Reach out
3. Start with hello

Please encourage your students to wear green t-shirts on Wednesday.

Flooding Assistance
We recognize the flooding on Wednesday, September 2 had devastating effects on those in our community. Several homes in the area have been damaged by the extreme weather. If your family is in need of assistance, please complete this form and we will connect you with local assistance agencies and resources.
