Michigan Growers: Meet your On-Farm Produce Safety Team!

The Michigan On-Farm Produce Safety program is a collection of service providers and resources that help Michigan farmers achieve their produce safety goals. Services from Produce Safety Technicians and MSU Extension Educators are always free, voluntary, and confidential.

Allissa Conley is the Produce Safety Technician out of the Newaygo Conservation District. She is originally from Saginaw, Michigan, but recently moved to the west side of the state. Outside of work, Allissa enjoys taking trips up north to visit with friends and family, as well as working on her nature photography and going off-roading with her partner. Her background is in wildlife management with a degree from Michigan State University, but she is looking to transfer her experience and skills into the food safety world to help growers. She is excited for this new role and looking forward to building lasting relationships with landowners.

Technicians can administer a Produce Safety Risk Assessment, help you develop a Farm Food Safety Plan, and describe the expectations and the process of a Produce Safety Inspection, all with complete confidentiality.
