Business Honor Society Application Deadline
Dear PA FBLA Advisers

Business Honor Society Webpage:

The National Business Honor Society/Pennsylvania FBLA Chapter is designed to recognize those members of Pennsylvania FBLA who truly excel in academic preparation and an eventual business or business-related career.

Pennsylvania FBLA recognizes that in order to succeed as a true academic and workplace leader, our members need to be well prepared in terms of their academics, career skills, and leadership development.

FBLA chapters in Pennsylvania are encouraged to nominate members to be recognized in the National Business Honor Society who meet the following criteria:

►High School: Overall cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in all courses.
►Overall cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 of a 4.0 scale in business, computer, and information technology courses with a minimum of two completed courses.
►Demonstrated leadership potential through service as a chapter officer, committee leader, or other participation in chapter activities.
►Clearly defined career objectives.

Applications may be submitted at any time during the year; however, the final deadline for applications will be March 2, 2023.

Students may apply no earlier than their Grade 11 year.
If selected as a Grade 11 recipient, the student does not need to apply again.

Required Documents to Be Uploaded as Part of the Application
Since this will require guidance department assistance, applicants should not wait until the last moment.
  • Resume
  • High school transcript
  • Accuracy/certification statement
  • Copy of school's grading scale
Applicants can complete the open-ended questions now and save them in a word processing document. When the final application is ready to be completed, the student can copy/paste their responses into the online form.

Announcement of Recipients
Honor Society inductees will be announced at the Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference on April 17-19, 2023. NBHS attendees attending the SLC will receive their certificates, commendation letters, pins, and special name tag ribbons when their advisers register. If the chapter is not attending, the materials will be shipped to the chapter adviser. All NBHS recipients will be scrolled on the screens at the State Leadership Conference.

Honor Cords
Chapter advisers (not students) may request graduation honor cords from the PA FBLA Executive Director for those schools which will permit honor society recipients to wear them at graduation ceremonies. More information will become available regarding ordering the honor cords in the spring. Ordering will open on April 19, 2023, at 8:00 am and must be completed by May 8. Students will only receive Honor Cords when they are in grade 12. If a student is selected for the Honor Society in grade 11, they will be eligible to receive the honor cord in their senior year.

Honor Cord Request Form (must be completed by the chapter adviser): due May 8, 2023
This form will open the morning after the State Leadership Conference ends.
