Summer is Here! This is a great time to do an Emerald Star project!
Not sure what is needed or what to do? Talk to your project leader, other adults in your club and county, and other club members. Think of a project that is useful and needed in the county/community that allows you to demonstrate leadership beyond your club.
You might plan and carry out a virtual learning day with speakers and breakout sessions, plan and carry out an advertising campaign, community, pride, outreach project (make a slideshow, video, podcast, or webinar), or prepare educational materials for a project that can be used by clubs in the county (video, slideshow, information pamphlet, manual). Or so much more!

Know Passionate Youth?
Their Winning Videos Can Change the Food System!
Young people aged 13–18 can submit one-minute videos diving into the ways food systems affect them, their communities, or our planet. These videos should spark action, inspire empathy and motivation, and help us all see and feel the passion of young people for food system transformation.
Winning videos will be screened at the upcoming Food Systems Film Festival alongside feature-length films and documentary shorts, featuring celebrity judges and food system heroes. The festival is linked to the inaugural UN Food Systems Summit, too, so winning videos will be launched onto an international stage of legislators and changemakers.
The Videos for Change project was launched by High Resolves, and videos will also be amplified with the help of partners including NBCUniversal, The Rockefeller Foundation, and XPRIZE. The deadline to submit entries is July 12, and finalists will be announced in mid-September.
