FCT AWARDED LOCAL KORTLAND GRANT

Fauquier Community Theatre is thankful for the $2,500 grant to launch the new Children's Performing Arts Education program (PACE) and a virtual community holiday event! The new FCT PACE program is launched with assistance by the Patricia and Nicolaas Kortlandt Community Fund at Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF). Executive Director Jane Bowling Wilson of NPCF noted, "Our grants committee read some terrific proposals, all having to adjust or tweak here and there to maintain the core of their programming while respecting and understanding the limitations as a result of COVID-19. The adaptability of our nonprofits is inspiring."
SPOTLIGHT ON NEW FCT BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMBER
ROBIN ELLENSON VERITY

Robin is from New York – originally in Rochester, then Long Island.
She enjoyed theater as a child but did not pursue it past middle school. Her family values theater and they would go to local shows often. Broadway has been a part of her life from her childhood. Robin attended the University of Maryland and majored in Therapeutic Recreation/Programming. She has worked for the Washington Capitals, managed a jewelry store, and then settled in as the Elementary and Youth Director at the Jewish Community Center in Northern Virginia for a decade. She ran programs including theater programs and special education camps. Robin then decided to go back to school and get a masters degree from George Mason University to teach special education. She began teaching in Fairfax, and now currently in Fauquier since 2012. Robin joined FCT’s board of directors in May 2020 after being a volunteer. She says, “I very much enjoy the camaraderie at FCT of the staff, volunteers, performers and patrons.”
