Weekly Director Letter 10/01/2021
Dear Parents,
This week was filled with excitement as we collected vote for the Kiwanis National Playground competition. We are hoping to keep the momentum going and ask you to continue voting until noon October 4th. We are going between first and second place on a daily basis and with your help we will pull way ahead. On October 4th, the top 10 vote getters will be judged, consideration will be given to the highest vote getters, but there are other criteria in the judging for the $25,000 playground renovation so thanks for playing along. Here is the voting link: bit.ly/PlayKidsForKids

As we start October, our thoughts turn to Halloween and our annual Halloween Happening Event. Although we don't permit candy, we have a wonderful event planned. Kids come to school in their costumes with a change of clothing in a bag. NO WEAPONS, toys, or masks of any kind.

We ask that each child bring a bag of NON CANDY treats like little bags of fruit snacks, goldfish, mini Play-Doh, little rings, or Dollar Store type party toys. We realize that most kids will get candy trick or treating, we just don't allow it here. Also to teach kids to be charitable, we do ask that those who are able to bring a bag of candy to school. We will use that candy to make goodie bags for homeless kids who can't go trick or treating. You may begin bringing in the candy bags and non-candy items starting Monday.

The event will be videotaped and parents will all get a link to the costume parade.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Beth Davis, Ed.S, NBCT
