ANSWERS TO COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where can I find updated information about COVID cases at Amana?
  • We are following the example of Fulton County Schools by posting cases to our website. You can find a link to that information here. Numbers will be updated weekly.
  • If your child has been in close contact with another person who has tested positive, the school will notify you directly.
Will you offer a virtual option?
  • At this time, Fulton County Schools is not allowing charter schools to offer a virtual option.
What mitigation measures are you taking to ensure the safety of students and staff?
  • Amana is requiring masks inside the building, and outside if 6 feet of social distancing isn’t possible.
  • We will maintain 3 feet of distance when inside, when possible.
  • We continue to clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces throughout the day.
  • Students are reminded frequently about good hand hygiene, and hand-washing stations and hand sanitizer are available in every classroom.
  • Desks are wiped between class changes.
  • Rooms are cleaned and sanitized every evening.
Why are you doing dismissal from the classroom during COVID-19?
  • This has been our dismissal procedure for the last 6 or 7 years, and we’ve made adjustments this year to make it safer. Measures include staggered entry and increased access to special circumstances carpool, among others to make it safer.
How are you tracking cases and conducting contact tracing?
  • If someone in your household tests positive, families should fill out the COVID-19 reporting form located on our website
  • Our Clinic Assistant, Ms. Fowler works with Futlon County Schools and the Department of Health to conduct contact tracing. For more information about those procedures, check the Fulton County Schools Coronavirus webpage
  • If your child has been in close contact, you will be contacted directly
  • If you have further question, please contact Ms. Fowler at: 678-492-0681
