Illness & Outbreak Guidance
On August 12, the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment released new guidance for schools that helps determine how parents, staff members and school systems should handle individual symptoms and potential outbreaks of COVID-19. This guidance includes when students and staff should stay home and for how long, when students or staff should be sent home from school/work and who should isolate and quarantine based on potential exposure.
eLearning Device Pickup
Computer Menu
Families enrolled in eLearning will be able to pick up devices on Monday, August 24 and Tuesday, August 25 at 4101 S. Bannock St. Times are assigned by last name. Read the eLearning newsletter for more information on device pickup.
Prepare for In-Person Learning
This video outlines the new safety procedures parents, students and staff members will follow this school year. We recommend watching with your student so you can have a conversation about what is going to be different this year and how we can work together to keep others safe.

You can also visit our "Prepare for In-Person Learning" website to read about what your student can practice in advance of returning to school.

UPDATED MASK GUIDANCE: We have received updated guidance that masks with valves are unacceptable for staff/students to wear because they offer little to no protection to those around the wearer because of the amount of outgoing air they allow.
COVID Tracking
Based on our COVID tracking data, the metrics are still meeting the threshold required for us to return to in-person learning on August 27. We look forward to welcoming students back to school!

A Note from Nutrition Services
Dear Parents,

We know you have a lot on your mind. The last thing we want is for you to worry about is how to provide your student a school lunch or their safety while in the lunchroom. Here are a few reasons we invite you to be “stress-free” when it comes to lunch.

Breakfast at school: Breakfast at all levels is at no charge to all students as part of the National School Breakfast Program. This program ensures that students will be offered a well-rounded meal, which includes a grain, fruit, and milk as part of their daily breakfast and fuel to succeed in the classroom.

Lunch at school: If you have experienced a job loss or loss of income, we have you covered! Call 303-806-7907 for assistance in completing the Free & Reduced Price Lunch application. We are on your team, and we will make sure your student receives a great lunch every day. We don’t want our families concerned about providing lunch for their children. We have your back.

Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP): FFVP is a federally assisted program providing free fresh fruits and vegetables to children at elementary schools during the school day. The goal of this program is to introduce children to new fresh fruits and vegetables, and to increase overall acceptance, variety and consumption of fresh produce among children. The FFVP also encourages healthier school environments by promoting nutrition education.

A safe lunchroom experience: The health and safety of our students is a top priority. We have a lot to highlight when it comes to our work to maintain high sanitation levels. Our team has received all of the training needed to ensure that surfaces and common areas remain clean. We are conducting health screenings every day, wearing masks and gloves, and routinely cleaning surfaces with a germicide, proven to kill the COVID-19 virus. We have also eliminated self-service meal service and reformatted the lunch line for student safety.

Keeping lunch fun! While keeping lunchtime safe and delicious, we know it is revered by our students as a time to unwind, relax and talk to their friends. We want kids to be able to return to this sense of normalcy while keeping them safe. Our team is going above and beyond to make sure kids can still love lunchtime, while having fun and remaining safe.

Meals for e-learners: Meals will be made available for e-learning students too. Information regarding sites and meal pick-up times can be found on our website: https://englewoodeats.com/?page=RemoteLearningMealService

To a healthy and delicious year,

Katie L Cossette, RDN, SNS

Legal Information
Each year, we are required to inform parents of certain legal information. Please read these notices below:

Information Regarding Registered Sex Offenders
State law (Section 22-1-124, C.R.S.), requires that all schools notify parents of enrolled students that they have the right to access law enforcement agency information concerning registered sex offenders. Although the public has previously had the legal right to access these lists, state law requires school districts to notify parents of this right. You may request a sex offender list at your local law enforcement office (in the jurisdiction in which you reside) or at the law enforcement office in the area where your children attend school. Some local law enforcement agencies also post sex offender information on their websites. Check with your local law enforcement agency to determine the appropriate process for requesting a list of registered sex offenders within their jurisdiction. Additional information can be found at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation’s website  https://apps.colorado.gov/apps/dps/sor/  and the Colorado Department of Education’s website at  https://goo.gl/9quIjW .
