Ramadan at Home 2021 - Take Care of Your Mental Wellbeing
Ramadan is an important time to strengthen our relationship with God, and for many of us it is also a time to connect with our families, friends and neighbours as we come together to break bread at iftar and pray tarawih in the mosque. This year, we face another restricted Ramadan, as social distancing measures are still in place in many parts of the world. Ramadan may once again feel lonely, especially for those living away from their families.

As people in the Muslim American community continue to face distinct challenges related to mental illness and stigma, advocates and mental health professionals are working to come up with solutions.
A growing number of American Muslims encounter prejudice in their daily lives. Not surprisingly, they also increasingly make self-reports of emotional stress. While day-to-day pressures continue to affect American Muslims’ ability to thrive, good recommendations are available to face these challenges. This toolkit includes resources for individuals and mental health professionals to effectively address the unique mental health challenges that Muslims face. This toolkit also includes specific resources for addressing the needs of American Muslim children who face the added challenge of bullying from peers and adults, alike.
