To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Florida Trail’s designation as a National Scenic Trail, we’re collecting stories for a special edition of the Footprint magazine.
The Florida Trail connects people with places. In the words of Shalin Desai, trails also connect people to people and, at times, to our inner selves. Trails nurture the practice of stewardship of the land, connect trailside communities and green corridors, and bring us closer to nature.
How has the Florida Trail impacted you? What connections have you found along the way? Hikers, trail maintainers, naturalists, and trail community members - submit your stories of 500 words or less by February 1 to communications@floridatrail.org for a chance to be featured in the magazine. Please include a photo of yourself on the Florida Trail with your story.
We’re also accepting photos of Florida’s landscapes, flora and fauna.
Looking forward to hearing from you, happy trails!
