In-person Sunday services are now at 7:45 and 10 AM. The 10 AM service will continue to be live-streamed in the future. You can always choose to watch the service on-line.

For those who attend the live service at 10 AM, bear in mind that we go live at 9:45 AM and that the microphones in the sanctuary are sensitive. Any sound you make or conversation you have can be picked up on those microphones and sent out to the world. Consider this when you enter the sanctuary. Also remember that we can now meet and greet one another outside before and after the service, and we encourage all of you to do so.

To insure your safety, these are the steps we will be taking and what we ask of each of you attending in person:
1)  All windows and doors to the outside will be opened throughout the service.
2)  Merv 13 air filters have been installed.
3)  Pews will be marked for seating locations, insuring 6 feet distance between family groups.
4)  Service time will be under 75 minutes.
5)  We will have a maximum seating capacity of 200.
6)  All congregants must wear a mask, properly worn over nose and mouth.
7)  There will be no congregational singing at this time.
8)  We will continue utilizing four masked singers and not a full choir.
9)  Communion will be served in one kind in the no touch fashion we are presently using.
10)  Children and youth and the nursery will be meeting outside and in McBride Hall, with the swamp cooler running to provide 100% air from the outside.
11)  We are strongly suggesting that only those who have been fully vaccinated for two weeks attend the services in person.
12)  The pews will be sanitized with a disinfectant between the services.

The 7:45 AM service will be a basic Prayer Book service with no singing. The 10 AM service will include the four singers and a beyond the Prayer Book liturgy with prayers linking to the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. Both services will include communion.
There will no longer be restrictions on conversations after the services. We can now encourage all to meet outside after the service to kibbitz in person. There will be more items that come up as we pivot back to indoor worship, but this is how we will begin.

The next step will be to put together a more formal coffee hour after each service or between the services. The Diocese has approved outdoor settings for such coffee hours. These gatherings can include food and drinks, but careful consideration must be made regarding hygiene, spacing, location during the summer heat, and how to host them.

We would like to put together a sub-committee to consider these questions in hopes that we can get something organized in the next few weeks. If you would be interested in that planning, please contact Parish Administrator Pam Spears.

We will also be considering Adult Spiritual Formation and potential hybrid forms of gathering together again. Ideas? Share them with Parish staff.

Parents, please note. The nursery is now staffed every Sunday for the 10:00 a.m. worship service in McBride Hall. Kids can be dropped off as early as 9:40 a.m. Nursery is for infants-age 3. Kids are welcome to enjoy church with their families in the Sanctuary. The Nursery will be open for babies & toddlers in McBride Hall.

URGENT: The pantry is needing and requesting companion animal
(dog and/or cat) pet food for our guests.
Would you believe that it's been over a year since we've contributed and /or collected dog and cat food for our Pantry? Typically we would of held 2 of our semi-annual dog/cat food collection and repackaging activities by this month (June). The amount received a year ago has held for a nice period of time.

Due to so many different reasons, as with April 2020, let's do our food collection similar to last time. Please go to smile.amazon.com or chewy.com, and order some dry cat or dog food, and have it delivered to the church office, You can have it sent to Parish Administrator, 2331 E. Adams Street, Tucson, AZ 85716. Some delivery companies ask for a phone number: 520-327-6857. Of course, you can always purchase some food and drop it off at the church office if that's easier for you. Remember, the church office hours are from 9am to 4pm, Monday thru Thursday, 9am to noon.

With smile.amazon.com, a certain percentage of your payment is given to a charity of your choice. I have chosen ASPCA. I checked out the PetSmart website, but they don't seem to deliver except to your house. Otherwise, you have to go by the store and pick up your purchase.

Please let Rev. Chris know by email when you contribute to this collection effort. When you do that, please let him know how many pounds you are sending or dropping off, and whether it's dog and/or cat food so we can keep a count. Remember that Grace St. Paul's is listed as one of the dog and cat food resources in the City of Tucson.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Nanette Alvarez or Rev. Chris through the GSP office.

Thank you for all that you do for our companion animal sisters and brothers!

Peaceful blessings!
Rev. Chris

Come Join GSP's Anti-Racism
Study Group

Next meeting will be June 23
4th Wednesday — 4:30-5:30 pm

In response to GSP's vision of social justice, the church's “anti-racism to ally” group has been endeavoring to live into its vision through focusing on social justice. The group has focused on writings regarding racism and white privilege, and aims to "move from anti-racism to ally."

Our goal is to develop a deep understanding of how "white privilege" is defined, how it affects people of color, and the rest of us, in so many ways. How can we transform this deeply rooted dynamic into one that empowers people of color and ourselves in ways that bring us all more closely together? How can we eliminate the manifestations of white privilege and systemic racism that remain so prevalent today? How can we address and redirect often-unconscious assumptions, words, actions and behaviors associated with white privilege?

To be put on the list to receive materials, to get zoom information on our monthly zoom meeting, or if you have any questions, please contact Rev. Chris, Jill McCollum, Barbara Morehouse, or Peggy Scott through the church office, 520-327-6857.
Grace St. Paul’s Loss and Grief Spiritual Support Group
July 9 to August 13, 2021
During this past year, we have had to re-establish our ways to be a spiritual participant in life. Now, we are being asked to again find a new normal as society “opens up.” However, we need to take time to lament or grieve our loss in the many forms it may have taken place including financial security, isolation, and the lives of people we loved, or even knew who they were. Loss typically precedes grief, both of which can be an important part of our spiritual journey.

Grace St. Paul’s Loss and Grief Spiritual Support Group will be a safe place to explore our related experiences and the potential for spiritual transformation. This group is experiential with guided meditations, prayer, short readings especially from our book Breathing Light, as well as many opportunities to share your experiences and hope with loss and grief. As you can probably surmise, all forms or kinds of loss and grief experiences including the loss of an animal companion are welcome.

We will meet for six weeks on FRIDAY mornings from 10 to 11:00am starting July 9, 2021.This will be offered on Zoom. The co-facilitators will be Rev. Chris Ledyard and Rev. Laurie Finn. Your sharing will be confidential and materials will be provided. Please call the Church Office at 520-327-6857 to preregister. If you have attended before, please come again. And if you feel intimidated by, or unfamiliar with, the technology, Chris and/or Laurie can help you navigate that, so you can join us.
2021 Peanut Butter Party - Spread the Love
Did you know that Interfaith Community Services gives out around 2,000 jars of peanut butter every month? It is one of the most requested items for our food bank. There are many reasons why families love to have peanut butter in the pantry. One, it’s delicious. Two, it’s easy to prepare, and easy enough for even young children to prepare on their own. Three, it is nutritious and protein packed! And four, it’s delicious!

In July, ICS are throwing our Peanut Butter Party! We are hoping to collect 10,000 jars of peanut butter. That would be almost 5 months’ supply of peanut butter! We are having a fun competition to see which of our Faith Communities can bring in the most peanut butter per capita. Help us #SpreadTheLove this July by keeping our neighbors fed! Please share on your social media pages about your collections and tag ICS (@icstucson) and use the hashtag #SpreadTheLove in your posts.

Casa Alitas Welcome Center

Casa Alitas’ daily number of guests is anywhere from 35-75. And this number will only be increasing.

Donations can be brought directly to CAWC at 2225 E Ajo Way, and it would be a big help to know when to expect them, so we can have volunteers there to accept them. Right now due to Covid we are only asking for the items on this list and no other used clothing since our volunteers launder all clothing and are overwhelmed with laundry at the moment.

Here is this week’s list:

1. Wash cloths
2. Dental floss
3. Deodorant - both men and women
4. Hairbrushes and combs
5. Women’s Lycra/stretch pants - small, medium and large (new or second hand)
6. Men’s jeans (new or gently used sizes 28-42” waist and 30-32” in length
7. Women’s bras or sports bras - new or gently used
8. Men’s boxer briefs (new only) large and extra large
9. Backpacks - size 19” +

They DO NOT need the following items:
Bathing suits
Evening or cocktail dresses
High heels
Men’s dress pants

We can’t thank you enough for being a part of this effort. We are so happy to finally see guests at CAWC and be able to help these families and along with your help and support we are making a difference in their lives, even if it is minimal

Again many thanks and blessings to you all for all that you do.
