A Message from Our President
Hello WMC members,

The WMC board has been hard at work preparing for our year ahead. Although the pandemic adds a layer of uncertainty, we are striving to keep our traditional musical activities going in a safe way.

In June, the board approved a budget which temporarily suspends some of our usual expenditures while increasing funds to other areas. Committees have set dates for events and are considering modifications to their usual operations. Piano Group II, scheduled to perform last spring, will be playing for our November 4 meeting, and the rest of the year's programs are shaping up nicely too. Our monthly e-newsletters will keep you updated throughout the year.

Great News: We will be holding our October 7th Launch meeting at The Center! Our plan is to proceed with the event for the approximately 33 members who have indicated they are comfortable with an in-person gathering. We have plenty of space to do this in a safe way, with room for more (see the virtual auditorium tour below). A light brunch will be held before the performance, so a reservation is needed. Watch for your electronic invitation in September.

You may be glad to know that our monthly programs will be video recorded this year. Recordings will be shared with WMC members though the e-newsletter the Wednesday following the live performance. Our performers will then have a professionally-produced recording to use for their own purposes.

As Pat Davis recently said, "although we are living in 'strange and challenging times', we know that MUSIC has lasted through generations of 'strange and challenging times'!" Truly, in spite of present difficulties, we have so much to be thankful for! I thank YOU for your membership and support of the WMC, and I look forward to seeing you soon, virtually or in person.

Wishing you all peace and good health,

---Dana Patek, President
Meet Graeme Rosner

Graeme Rosner, a recent University of South Carolina graduate with a BM in Composition, a minor in Audio Recording, and a certificate in French Horn Performance, will be recording our monthly programs this year. Read more about Graeme here and listen to one of his recent recording projects here.

When listening to performances online, connect - wirelessly or with a cable - to stereo speakers for the best sound. Alternatively, use headphones to improve your listening experience.
