Advent 2022

So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” Luke 2:15

As Goshen Valley concludes another year of ministry, I am reminded of our "Bethlehem". That being the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Where our ministry was first born! Where church leadership and members of the congregation first huddled and prayed over the mission to serve foster children and at risk families. Where resources of time, talent and treasure were first brought forth in support of what we believed Goshen Valley could mean in the lives of those it encountered. Where men, women and children first gathered in an attitude of service cleaning and restoring to bring new life to a place previously meant for horse and cattle. Where the first ripple of peace and purpose was felt.

This Christmas as we set our sights on Bethlehem and the birth of Savior, Goshen Valley resets its eyes on Redeemer. Our influence was made possible by how you cared for us since birth.

Heavenly Father, We are reminded each Christmas of the gift that is Jesus. May we walk in his ways and share his love with others this Christmas season. May we also give thanks for the gift that is Goshen Valley. The lives it has impacted and the vision you have cast upon it going forward. We love you Lord and we pray these things in Jesus name.

Merry Christmas,

Zach Blend
