Last weekend marked the opening of Haven Harbour Marina's Passages Bar & Grill. The bar's annual mid-May opening was delayed this year due to safety concerns and government sanctions regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Terry Dean returns this year to not only run the bar, but oversee and manage both front and back of house. She is joined by her daughter Haley, who is home for the summer, as well as other serving and kitchen staff.

"I'm excited for this summer," said Terry. "It will be nice to see not only folks from last year but new visitors to the marina and bar."

The menu, put together by Jeff Carroll at the regionally-renowned Fish Whistle, features delicious dishes from years past, as well as new spins on classic favorites.

Among the crowd pleasers is the Hot Carmen, a sandwich consisting of Prosciutto, Capicola, Genoa, Sopresata, sharp provolone, roasted red peppers, red onion, olive oil and oregano served on a panini roll; as well as the Passages Cuban, a panini roll sandwich consisting of house-smoked pork loin, pit ham, jack cheese, chipotle mayo and dill pickles.

Seafood dishes such as the Passages Shrimp Cocktail, Fish Whistle Lump Crab Cake and the popular Shore Melt are met by a wide selection of classic and specialty cocktails, wine, draft beer and more.

"If you're looking for a local spot with chill vibes, come down and see your friends at Passages Bar & Grill," added Terry.

Standard hours for the season will be 4:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Fridays, 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Saturdays, and 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Sundays.
