Existential Rants
“The artist’s job is not to succumb to despair but to find an antidote for the emptiness of existence”
Woody Allen
As an artist and existentialist, I could not agree more with this quote by Woody Allen. Philosophy is good medicine for the soul. Especially existential philosophy, which is intended to create a dialogue between our internal and external self. In order to create a better dialogue and understanding with our fellow humanity. For some, this can be a daunting task as one attempts to deal with their emptiness. To transmute one’s existence and emptiness into a life of essence, one should seek the truth about themselves in order to assist them in creating a workable dialogue with our at times frail and fickle humanity.
“I have a very good life, so I have nothing to complain about. Sometimes, I just have existential angst”
Meg Ryan
With this said, I wrote this existential teleplay, “Existential Rants” as a series of existential rants performed by the troupe to illustrate the private brain virus’s we encounter in our private existential moments, and often too inhibited to share even with the best of friends. So just imagine yourself as a fly on the wall in a therapist’s office listening to just a few of the rants of the teleplay. Please refer to our website to view the entire performance.
“I have an existential map. It has 'You are here' written all over it.”
Steven Wright

“I took a test in Existentialism. The left all the answers blank and got 100”
