Ed Koren, a New Yorker cartoonist for decades, will give us an insight into the quirky, funny, unique vision he has of city folk, rural people, relationships, animals, vegetables and very big fuzzy creatures. He will speak about the ideas and how he gets them, and how he works. (more)

In this series of classes, we will focus on winter holiday designs. Sign up for one (or more) 2-session classes to learn the art of Ukrainian Egg Decorationg (pysanky) to create holiday ornaments.
We will have plenty of white chicken eggs on hand, and all the supplies. If you have access to duck or goose eggs and would like to try your hand at a larger project, feel free to bring them along.
*These classes are not for children.

Want to learn more about computers but you're afraid to ask?
Or maybe you've been using a computer for years but want to understand more of the basics. I
n "Computer 101 - Basics" we'll learn online with Universal Class while using our own laptops (the library will also have some laptops to borrow during the class session). Meg Brazill, NWPL's Director of Technology, will guide users and provide in-person info and answer questions.

Classics Book Discussion Group:
The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende
The House of the Spirits is a chronicle of three generations of the Trueba family in Chile. The book has been described as an epic that combines the personal and political into "a universal story of love, magic and fate."
NWPL will have copies here and through interlibrary loan. If you would like your own, the Yankee Bookshop will have copies available at a 15% discount for anyone who mentions our book group!

"Love Your Library" Show
The Mezzanine Gallery at the Norman Williams Public Library (NWPL) invites area artists to participate in a group show celebrating the beauty of our library.
The "Love Your Library" exhibit will run January 3 - February 15, 2019, to coincide with the Friends of the Norman Williams Public Library's day of activities and "National Love Your Library" month.
At many libraries around the country, February is dedicated to the people who love the buildings devoted to the reading, housing, organizing, categorizing, finding, studying and otherwise loving books.

Baby & Toddler Story Time
This story time features short stories, interspersed with songs and finger plays and runs for about 20 minutes. It is geared for children ages birth to three years.

Preschool Story Time
This session features three thematically-related stories and a tie-in craft or activity. This session runs for about 45 minutes. Geared for children ages 3-5 years.

Dorothy's List Book Club meets in the Abbott Room of the Children's Library.

Knicole's Knitting
This is a beginner knitting class. Nicole Charlebois is a fantastic young woman and a wonderful knitter. Classes are free but students do need to provide their own supplies. Our first project will be an infinity scarf. Supplies include 3 balls of chunky yarn and a pair of size 15 (10mm) knitting needles. Please call or stop by the children's circulation desk to register. This program is open to children age 10 and up.

There will be Mah Jongg games on Tuesday and Thursday at 2:00 at The Thompson Senior Center for established players. T
here will be Mah Jongg lessons on Friday at 1:00 at NWPL.
All players are welcome to attend Friday games, regardless of ability.
