To commemorate Black History Month, you are invited to a FREE, live performance of the play Words That Made the Difference: “Brown v. Board of Education.” It will be performed one night only, on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Unity Palo Alto (3391 Middlefield Road). This play is based on actual events in the fight to end school segregation and is set in the courtrooms of history. The script draws from trial transcripts of the five cases that were brought together before the Supreme Court. Included are the words of Thurgood Marshall and Supreme Court Justice Earl Warren, bookends in the fight for desegregation of schools culminating in the famous Brown vs. the Board of Education decision in 1954. Although tickets are free, registration is required and available only on Eventbrite.
