Drop by the school, visit your classroom, drop off supplies, and visit our sign-up tables. New families, please join us for orientation.

• 1st - 8th Grade (9 am - 10 am) Visit classrooms and drop off supplies.
• 1st-8th Grade NEW Family Orientation (9:15 am) Students will remain in the classroom while parents meet in the Multi-Purpose Room
• EC Celebration (11am)
• JK & K Popsicles on the Playground & Family Orientation (10:15am - 11am) Parents drop off students in the lower parking lot and then go to orientation. 
• JK Parent Orientation - Multi-Purpose Room with teachers and staff
• Kindergarten Parent Orientation - Kindergarten classroom with teachers and staff

• Sign-up Tables in the Gym (9 am-11 am) PTF, Prayer Ministry, Scouts, and Fall Sports 
• 1st-8th grade families, if you cannot join us for Drop-in Day, you can bring supplies the first day.

Tuesday, August 17th: Half Day

• All Students join us for a half day of school with dismissal at 11:30am (no lunch)
• 1st Grade Parent Orientation (10:30am) - Classroom

Wednesday, August 18th: Half Day

• All Students join us for a half day of school with dismissal at 11:30am (no lunch)

• 5th /6th Grades Parent Orientation (10:30 am) - Multi-Purpose Room
• 7th/8th Grades Parent Orientation(10:30 am) - Youth Center 

Thursday, August 19th: Full Day

• First Full Day of school for All Students!
• First day of After School Care
• 4th Grade Parent Orientation (8:15 am) - Multi-Purpose Room



Friday, August 20th: Full Day of School!

Your WCA Administration Team has prepared protocols knowing that the pandemic may not be entirely behind us with the Delta variant circulating. We all learned last year to plan but remain flexible. We also learned that together we can do anything. Our goal is to be in-person and make decisions that allow us to remain in-person as much as possible. 

Safety

• We wanted to clarify that masks are recommended, but the choice to mask or not mask is for individual families to make for their children, and we will support families' decisions. 
• We will not require daily symptom reporting. We ask parents to continue their vigilance in monitoring their child's health. 
• Students will stay in Class Families to help maintain distance. 
• We will encourage regular hand-washing and maintain hand sanitizing stations.
• Our administration is working on virtual options, and more information will come soon. Our main goal is for our Hawks to learn in person, but we realize that our school community includes those with illnesses and immunosuppression within their immediate families. We will also have a plan available for COVID-positive or COVID-19 exposed families that may be required to quarantine.

Extra Cleaning

• The church will be providing extra cleaning. We will also have a Day Porter to help with cleaning and sanitizing during school hours.
• Hand Sanitation Stations will remain available.
• Our PTF will supply teachers with sanitation caddies that include extra cleaning supplies (bacterial wipes, Lysol, hand sanitizers, etc.)

Community Events

• We are canceling our Back to School event scheduled for August 26th to adjust to current circumstances. We hope to have more fellowship gatherings this year and look forward to seeing our Hawks family together at Curriculum Night (9/16) and the Talent Show (10/15).

School Visits

• We ask that you limit school visits to stay safe. Check out time is 2:00 pm (or before). Checkout requests can be sent via email to the teacher and [email protected].

Drop-off & Pick-Up

• Drop-off is from 8:00 am to 8:15 am. To help maintain distance, students will go straight to classrooms. 
• Pick-up will be separated by class to keep students in their Class Families. JK - 4th Grade dismissal from the gym. EC students will be dropped off and dismissed from gym. 5th - 8th Grade dismissal from the Youth Center. Teachers will call the names of students and help load younger students into vehicles. JK & K pick-up is at 2:30 pm. 1st - 8th Grade pick-up is at 2:45. 

As the school year moves forward, we will continue to reference the most current guidelines, pray over decisions, and keep you up-to-date. We are grateful for your continued partnership and support. Building community and being in-person are important. We hope that by staying safe, we can enjoy more time together this year.
