Welcome Your New Council


The inaugural meeting of Council was held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. The elected officials were piped in by Heather Boston and each official took the the oath of office.


Each Council member was provided an opportunity to address the residents of Mulmur.


Councillor Kim Lyon expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve on Council and is looking forward to serving the residents of Mulmur.


Councillor Andrew Cunningham is happy to be returning and is looking forward to serving the residents of Mulmur.


Councillor Patricia Clark is looking forward to returning and seeing initiatives through. Councillor Clark thanked the residents of Mulmur for voting and those who assisted in her campaign.


Deputy Mayor Earl Hawkins thanked supporters and staff and is looking forward to the next four years.


Mayor Janet Horner feels honoured to be acclaimed Mayor and is looking forward to working together, while moving Mulmur forward in a controlled and careful way. Mayor Horner acknowledged the members of Council and expressed confidence in the team.

Primrose Elementary School Update

 

A well drilling company is onsite at the Primrose Elementary School drilling test holes to determine the best location for a new well.

 

It is estimated that the entire project will be completed before students return from Winter Break in January.

Good News about Fibre!


Rogers will be installing fibre in the Township of Mulmur in areas being missed by SWIFT.


Installation is expected to commence in Spring 2023 with completion by the end of Summer 2023.

Winter Road Maintenance


Residents are reminded that vehicles are not allowed to be parked on any street, road allowance, sidewalk or municipal parking lot within the Township of Mulmur during the winter season from December 01, 2022 to March 31, 2023.


Vehicles parked or abandoned on any Township road allowance or parking lot so as to obstruct snow removal equipment, will be referred to the Ontario Provincial Police and removed at the owner’s expense.


The Township of Mulmur and/or its employees will not be liable for any damage done by snow removal equipment to vehicles parked or abandoned on the road allowance, or damage caused to vehicles by removal operations.


Anyone guilty of depositing snow or ice on Township roads, causing an obstruction to traffic or damage to the motoring public is liable for damages caused, and may be charged under The Ontario Highway Traffic Act. (R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 181.)

Committee Members Wanted!

 

The Council of the Township of Mulmur is looking for residents interested in serving on its Boards and Committees.

 

Applications must be received no later than 12 noon on January 18, 2023. The term of office for most positions is concurrent with the term of Council, being four years (ending on November 14, 2026), or as determined by

Council.

 

We are looking for citizen representation on the following committees:

 

Mansfield Parks Committee (2 members, with at least one being from the Mansfield Area)

North Dufferin Community Centre Board (3 members)

Police Services Board (1 member)

Economic Development Committee (4 members)

Summary of Qualifications, Duties and Responsibilities:


Board/Committee Members must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, a Canadian

Citizen, a resident, owner, co-owner of land, or tenant within the Township of Mulmur

and not employed by the Board or the Municipality. Members will be required to

attend meetings and special meetings as set or deemed necessary by the Board/Committee.
