Dear St. Anne Catholic School Families:

Just one more week until spring break! It’s been great seeing so many families around campus this week. Our pastries with parents was well-attended and as always our pre-k parade, led by Father Tommy, put us all in the Mardi Gras Spirit. Together we entered into the Lenten Season by receiving ashes on Wednesday. Lent is one of my favorite seasons as I love to see our students doing Stations of the Cross in our beautiful courtyard. Each grade prays the Stations of the Cross every week as we contemplate the Passion of Christ.

It is with great joy that I announce our new playground is open! We are hearing many squeals of happiness as our students play on the new structure. They have waited so patiently as we put the finishing touches on the area. Their smiles indicate they are enjoying themselves immensely.

Our Theatre Under the Stars Gala is fast approaching. Invitations went home yesterday with the students. Please be sure to check your student(s)’ backpacks for them. Tickets can be purchased online here or via check with the RSVP card that is included with the invitation. The class projects look amazing. Special thanks to the parents who worked so hard to create these masterpieces with our students. Thank you for your generous donations, our baskets are starting to come together. Class parties have been great fun for our students. We will have the middle school parties in April and May.

Our 1st graders took their field trip to the Children’s Museum this week. Please keep our 7th and 8th grade students and teachers in your prayers next week. They will both be heading out for their overnight class trips. We are excited to have our students taking field trips again.

As our Lenten journey continues, let us remember that Lent brings the death and resurrection of the Lord more adamantly into our lives. Let us continue to observe Lent together in prayer, penance and almsgiving.

Wishing all a blessed weekend.

Only by His Grace,

Kendall Shamas

STATIONS OF THE CROSS :

Way of the Cross - Via Crucis 2022

St. Anne Catholic Community invites you to participate in the prayer of the Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent. The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth as a man, beginning with His condemnation. The stations are commonly used as a mini pilgrimage as we move from station to station. At each station, we recall and meditate on a specific event from Christ's last day. Specific prayers are recited, then we move to the next station until all 14 are complete.

Traveling Crucifix:

Your prayers are essential to support those who nurture our children in all of the programs and activities provided by our school. The traveling crucifix is a school –wide effort to pray for vocations and our students, families, teachers, staff members, and volunteers, as they engage their daily work in education.

The crucifix will be presented to your family at the conclusion of Mass. We ask that you return it to the school Mass the following Wednesday.

For questions, please email or call the school office at 281-351-0093.
