Record Number of Volunteers Signing Up for upcoming Year of Service to our Community!

We've had a tremendous number of students signing up for next year's GVCO Caring Hands activities. As you know, "many hands make light work" and with many volunteers, we will be able to accomplish so much more for the community!

Parents - you are welcome to come out and help too!
Some of the activities and partners for the 2021-22 school year:

Brandywine SPCA - September Donation Drive
Throughout the month we will be hosting donation drop off days and "Kong Stuffing" during the weekends. We hope the SPCA will stop by with some of their furry friends.

Crayons to Cradles children’s clothing drive – Fall 2021
This will be the 3rd Annual C2C drive. First two years were a great success and we're looking forward to greater things this year!

Home of the Sparrow Winter White Out Event - November
NEW event this year! We will be partnering with Home of the Sparrow to assist women facing homelessness to secure housing and achieve long-term stability. There will be more info on this event as we move forward in the calendar.

"Good Neighbors" initiative - holiday gift wrapping
For many years, we have been wrapping hundreds of gifts and delivering them to several local senior centers during the hoildays.

Additionally, we expect to repeat events like decorating the food boxes for CCFB and the holiday gift sale as well as adding several new community service opportunities throughout the fall and into the new year.

Your help is needed to make these events successful. Parents and students in grades 7-12 are welcome to volunteer.

And how about the parity in the Girls 5/6 division? All 6 teams are still in the hunt. There's still 3 weeks left in the regular season and a lot of basketball left.

GVCO Project Update
After doing some final tree clearing for storm water pipe, the site contractor immediately started grading the playing field space. Getting this space into usable condition as quickly as possible is a priority. GVCO wants to create the much needed space as we have begun to plan a number of community events through our Caring Hands and Challenger programs; our youth football and cheer programs will be utilizing the space; and we have begun discussing use for our community partners and outside groups for other activities and fundraising opportunities.

As we have been saying, "We Are On Our Way"! Keep an eye on our website and social media pages as we will be announcing a "formal ground breaking" date in September as the 1st phase of the building begins to take shape. We will also be announcing the restart of our Great Valley Building Connections ("GVBC") capital campaign in the coming weeks as we continue to need to reach our $3 million fundraising goal in hopes of completing the entire building.
The GVCO Future
