LDL NEWS
October is Michigan Library Appreciation Month
Throughout October, Loutit District Library invites you to share your experiences of how the library kept you connected during quarantine.

We’re encouraging our patrons and all Michiganders to show their appreciation and support for our libraries and all the amazing people who work in them!

Use the hashtags #MILibraryMonth and #LoveMILibraries as you share your stories and make sure to tag Loutit District Library as well. Michigan Library Appreciation month is a statewide observance sponsored by the Michigan Library Association (MLA) and libraries of all types across the state each October.
Cheapstacks Used Bookstore Hours
The Friends of the Loutit District Library generously volunteer their time to sort through donations and keep the Cheapstacks Used Bookstore open for business each week. Their most up to date hours and monthly specials can always be found by visiting their Facebook Page.

The proceeds of the bookstore are donated to the library to support special projects and initiatives. We are very grateful for their support.
Listen to Audiobooks and Albums while Driving?
It’s no surprise that many people listen to hoopla music and audiobooks while driving. By popular request, hoopla is making it easier to do just that through Android Auto!

With your Android device and a vehicle that supports Android Auto, you will be able to play audiobooks and music you’ve borrowed directly through the vehicle’s in-dash display.

For those of you who are Apple users, Apple CarPlay is in the works. Stay tuned.

FEATURED PROGRAMS
Teen Meet Up
The Wicked Lake Forest Cemetery History Trail is back and this time it's self guided. This is a StoryWalk® for ages 13 and 103.

Stop by the cemetery between dawn and dusk beginning Thursday, October 7 through Monday, October 11 to explore the more "notorious" residents of Grand Haven's past. Stories about the shocking crimes, murders, and miscreants are all part of Grand Haven's exciting past! Maps and instructions available at the beginning of the tour at the cemetery office.

Teens: Come meet up on the first day of the event to eat snacks and stroll through Lake Forest cemetery to read all sorts of spooky stories of Grand Haven mayhem at Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven. Meet up in the parking lot, and bring a smart phone (if you have one) for additional content! We hope to see you there.
Click on each button below to be routed to a complete list of programs happening in the month of September for that department.
