The HS Music Club is putting on a talent show on Friday, April 8 at 6 pm in the Oak auditorium. Entry to the event will be $5. The proceeds from this event will benefit Band of Angels, a KC non-profit that supports middle and high school music students. All Armour students are invited to attend!
Thank You from Oak Teachers
The Oak English teachers would like to thank our parent and staff volunteers for coming in to read during Read Across America Week. Our K-3 students enjoyed having special readers!
Math Club for 2nd & 3rd Grade at Oak
Have a 2nd or 3rd grader at Oak interested in Math? We are starting a Math Club just for them. The math club is all about having fun with math and exploring topics that might not be covered in the classroom.  We will be meeting directly after school until 5 pm weekly on Tuesdays for 6 weeks starting on Tuesday, April 5th with the last meeting on May 10. To sign up or for more information, email rachel.l.moyer@gmail.com. Please sign up by March 29th.
21-22 Yearbook Orders & Picture Requests
We are producing two yearbooks this year (HS & K-8). At this time, only the ALIHS yearbook can be ordered. Click here to order using job #14711322 until April 15th.

If you received an email about ordering a yearbook, please know that it is only for the high school yearbook. If you already ordered the wrong yearbook because your child is in grades K-8, you will receive more information next week.

You can send in any pictures you have taken this year to jpasqualini@academielafayette.org. The deadline to send in pictures is 4/10. Please indicate the grade level and homeroom teacher in your email.

We have a few 20-21 yearbooks left. Email communication@academielafayette.org if you would like to purchase one for $15. All yearbooks ordered were delivered to homeroom teacher mailboxes this week. If your child has not yet received their yearbook, please contact the homeroom teacher first, then communication@academielafayette.org if further assistance is needed.
Oak Uniform Closet Information
Attention Oak families! For those of you needing Spring uniforms: no need to buy new, use the uniform closet! It's full of lots of great stuff and open for any Oak family to use, sizes 4-16! Adults are welcome to come shop the closet on school days between 4 and 5 pm. Just check-in at the front desk and head down. Donations can be left in the closet during that time as well or at the front desk. If you're having trouble finding a time to access the closet you're welcome to contact Adam N, Oak social worker (anachum@academielafayette.org) who can assist or contact one of the parent volunteers who can also pack you a bag.

Parent volunteers: Missy B (melnicley@mac.com), Susie W (susanweis@chewnings.net) or Sally K (sallyk1975@gmail.com)
Generations Day: Volunteers Needed
We are looking for volunteers to help with the Generations Day Art Walk on Tuesday, April 19th, Thursday, April 21st, and Friday, April 22nd. Please reach out to Celia Liptak at cliptak@academielafayette.org if you are interested or have any questions.
Thank You to Our Host Families
Académie Lafayette would like to thank this year's host families. Our interns are beyond grateful to have such warm and welcoming host families and homes. This benefits the quality of their work at school and allows our kindergarteners and 1st graders to enjoy the French immersion learning environment. A potluck was organized to show our gratitude on February 25th, 2022 with all the interns, their host families, and our school leaders.

Please feel free to contact the Cherry instructional coordinator, Maaria Riaz, at mriaz@academielafayette.org if you have any questions about hosting next school year or if you would like to apply as a host family for next year. We are expecting 14 interns for the school year 2022-2023 which means we will at least need 7 families close to the Oak campus and 7 families close to the Cherry campus.
ALIHS Student-Run Newspaper
The Et Cetera is a satirical student-run newspaper which publishes issues every week. As of yet, the EC has produced 10 issues and 2 exclusives, published simultaneously with physical copies at ALIHS and on our website, ecnews.tk. Our audience has originally been mostly students and HS teachers, but we hope to engage more parents and teachers from other grades. Check us out on our website ecnews.tk and Instagram the.et.cetera.

ESSER III Community Input
Funds were provided to State Educational Agencies and school districts to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the nation's students. The Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan (reopening plan) is an integral part of the ESSER III plan. As we continue to re-evaluate and update our plan as needed, the ESSER III survey link is still open. Click here if you would like to provide input.
