Chamber of Commerce
Can we look forward to any speakers? Of course, you can. See who below!
The Career Centre Parksville will be speaking about their upcoming career fair and highlight future events for us.

We are excited to present one of our most recent Chamber members Lynn Thorsell from Lathyrus Leadership to speak to us about how "Your Leadership Has Style!"

As a leadership coach, Lynn has been honoured to work with over 300 people on every continent, from business owners, CEOs, and executive directors to students and job-seekers. She has been a human systems consultant for leaders in IT, customer service, health care, non-profit, and international development on issues of leadership team alignment, employee engagement, stakeholder insights, strategic planning, and team development.

Whatever her role, Lynn sees herself as a co-learner. She joins her clients in the work of better understanding and defining themselves, their situations, their purpose, and — most pragmatically — their next steps. You can learn more about her work and read client testimonials at lathyrus.ca

Goodbye "Flying Phil"
Phil St Luke has sadly passed at aged 70. He will be sorely missed from our community but remembered fondly for always participating in our Canada Day Parade.
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. RIP Phil St Luke.

Kim Burden, executive director of the Parksville Chamber of Commerce told NanaimoNewsNOW Phil was a constant presence at their annual Canada Day parade, leading the procession with his drum.
“The thing about Phil was he had a smile on his face, in terms of an ambassador for the community he greeted people, he popped into businesses to say hi. He was a presence in the community and he’ll be sadly missed.”
Burden added he represented the best of Parksville.
“He was a presence here, he walked the streets every day, he said hello to everybody every day, he always had a big wave when people went by on the highway. He was part of Parksville.”
