It is that time of year once again. Dubbed "a town-wide theme party that you won't forget," the town of Rock Hall will be hosting its 13th Annual Pirates and Wenches Fantasy Weekend this weekend – back in port from a year of absence.
Similar to the annual Third and Fourth of July celebrations, Pirates and Winches has come to be a summer hallmark for our community, attracting thousands to our area's numerous marinas, restaurants, inns and bed and breakfasts for a uniquely Shore-style summer getaway.
Tonight kicks off the weekend-long festivities (of which Haven Harbour Marina Resorts is a proud platinum sponsor) with cannon fire, rum tasting, a sea shanty sing-along and more.
The festive activities continue all day tomorrow with a decorated flotilla dinghy parade, pirate poker run, Caribbean-style beach party at Ferry Park, costume contests, Buccaneer's Ball, Graybeard's Treasure Chest Raffle Marketplace, as well as music and mayhem on Main Street.
Other events hosted Sunday and throughout the weekend include pirate performers, kids games, face painting and tattoos, grub and grog, live entertainment, treasure hunts and souvenir merchandise.
We wish you all an enjoyable – and safe – Pirates and Wenches weekend. To learn more about the coming events, please visit rockhallpirates.com.
