Week Five of the Chautauqua Lecture Series: Women’s Vote Centennial and Beyond
The Chautauqua Institution joins the nation in commeorating the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, while also considering those who were left out of the mainstream suffrage movement, examining the slow progress toward gender equality in the United States, and looking for relevant lessons from the fight for women’s suffrage and apply them to ongoing battles for equality.
All events are at 10:45 a.m. EDT. Click on the presenters' names and you will go the Chautauqua site to login. If you are not a member, you can register for a 90-day free trial! Some presentations have already occurred but you can still view.

…and Interfaith Lecture Series: The Feminine Spirit
Confucian Correlative Cosmology, specifically Taoism, presented the image of the Yin/Yang Holism (the Tai Chi) to describe how seemingly opposite forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world; and, how they give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. In this image, the feminine charisms are juxtaposed with the masculine charisms (neither are strictly gender-specific), and in this emerging era it has been observed that the feminine is finally rising, ultimately to restore balance and to revitalize the world. In this week, Chautauqua Institute shines a light on the feminine charisms and spirit and some leading women who embody this spirit.
All events are at 2 p.m. EDT.
Click on the presenters' names and you will go the Chautauqua site to login. If you are not a member, you can register for a 90-day free trial! Some presentations have already occurred but you can still view.
