Residents Gone Wild!
Azpira Place of Lake Zurich residents got to view and feed wildlife while enjoying an open wagon ride through Safari Lake Geneva, Wisconsin's only conservation park that is preserving species from around the world. The up-close adventure was the next best thing to an actual trip to Africa!
Froggie Talk
While studying Puerto Rico’s rainforests, Azpira Place of Breton residents learned about a species of frog called: Coquí (Koe-Kee). It is named for the loud call the males make at night. This sound serves two purposes. "CO" repels males and establishes territory while the "KEE" attracts females. Inspired, resident made adorable frog bookmarks!
Loving Lake Life
“The sky opened up to the heavens and angels came down!” exclaimed Azpira Place of Breton resident Dorothy, describing a recent trip to the Pickerel Lake Park.

Dorothy and fellow residents enjoyed exploring the scenic shoreline, observing wildlife and walking on the 800-foot floating boardwalk that crosses a portion of the nearly 80-acre lake.
Ein Prosit!
Residents and team members—one donning lederhosen!—had a blast celebrating Azpira Place of Lake Zurich’s first-ever Oktoberfest! They enjoyed delicious German-themed cuisine, a Beer Garden in the Bistro, and live entertainment by Die Musikmeisters!
Tea-Time!
The ladies of Azpira Place of Breton enjoyed each other’s company at an Autumn Tea, where they also had fun arranging flowers with blooms generously donated by Horrocks Farm Market!
Not Just for Kiddos!

On a recent outing to Sweet Yo’s Yogurt, Azpira Place of Breton residents marveled at the choice of yogurt flavors and toppings. “Their eyes widened like kids in a candy store and ‘wow’ was all they could say,” said Azpira Place's VIVA! Life Coordinator, who accompanied residents on the tasty trip.
Happy Campers Celebrate
Camp VIVA!’s 10th Anniversary
Nearly 100 Pathway to Living residents spent a glorious September day soaking up outdoor fun and adventure at Camp VIVA! Happy campers, vaccinated and wearing masks, celebrated ten years of memorable Camp VIVA! experiences at Sunrise Lake Outdoor Education Center

The young-at-heart enjoyed paddle boating, fishing, archery, tie-dying and, of course, barbecuing. Thanks to sunscreen, bug spray and the incredible team of volunteers from Pathway and FOX Rehabilitation, everyone had a blast and is looking forward to returning next year.
What’s SO SPECIAL about Working in Senior Living?
The people! The video features some older adult residents who rave about their wonderful experiences with Pathway to Living team members and share how much they’d love to have you be part of their community.
Fall is a Fine Time
for a Senior Living Move
Older adults who are ready to embrace the benefits of senior living may be wondering, with the holidays on the horizon and the pandemic in flux, if it is the right time to move.

Even when a move to assisted living make sense and may be necessary for a senior’s wellbeing, some families are taking a wait-and-see approach before the holidays. Waiting, however, isn’t always the best course of action, especially when you consider the many advantages of a pre-holiday, fall move to senior living.
