Our Church Council met last week and believes that it is wise and faithful to stay the course. We will continue with virtual worship services and no in-person church meetings until further notice. Please let us know if our Care Team can help you in any way. Please find ways to connect with one another, church leaders and staff. We will be offering new and old ways to BE THE CHURCH this autumn!
Let Us Worship Together
Join us for a Facebook Live worship experience this Sunday at 10am – or find it later on our Facebook page (link below). Our scriptures include ideas about God’s mind – what does God think? How might that be similar and/or different from how we think? Listen with us to Isaiah 55, Exodus 32 and Philippians 4… with a sermon entitled God’s Mind and Heart.
Livestream worship on designated Sundays. Look under videos for previous livestreamed services.

Oct 17 deadline | Container in the front entrance under the food donations

Every year we send our college students a little Halloween treat to let them know we are thinking about them. We are asking for Halloween candy to send to them. Also, in place of our annual Trunk or Treat we’re offering a Community event, Outside Halloween Adventure on Saturday, October 24 from 5:00-6:00 PM. It will be held rain or shine around the church grounds. Families with masks and social distance will meet superheroes telling their stories and will receive candy as if trick or treating, So, we are asking for candy at this event as well. Thanks for helping us! Contact Barbara Kuhlmann: [email protected] | 314-607-2841

Five Electorates
Author Brian McLaren has a gentle spirit, sharp mind, and brave heart. Recently he published a blog post called "Five Electorates". In it, he outlines the emergence of a new electorate that represents the deep disruption we see today. "You may think that there are only two kinds of voters in American politics, Republican and Democrat or Conservative and Liberal. You may even add a third category, Independents. Whatever your current understanding, I think you'll benefit from this alternate way of seeing American politics in 2020 -- there have been four kinds of voters in recent elections, but now, a fifth voter element is emerging, and that changes everything.”

Depression and Caregiving

Habitat for Humanity St Louis Auction
You may not have been the high bidder on an item, but some of you bid and several went high. Thanks to you for sharing the Habitat Half St. Patrick’s Information.

Over $3000 was donated/raised through the auction. Proceeds from last St. Patrick Day Lunch and Dinner that was called off (people donated tickets and other donations) were just over $5000! Habitat STL and our UCC Housing Ministry and future homeowners are the winners. That will be over $8000!

As Habitat STL features our UCC this month, we will be making donations throughout the month of UCC dollars given. The first check to be written today is $30,000. ~ Keith Karau
