Sam Marshall Cole

If there's one group of people that we absolutely love here in Town, it's our first responders. Police Officers and Firefighters do so much for us each and every day, from teaching kids about practical safety skills to showing up in times of crisis when we need them most.

To show her appreciation for these grade-A heroes, Sam Marshall Cole put her culinary skills to work and hosted an appreciation lunch back in December 2021.

Helping her with this task were a number of local restaurants and businesses, all eager to do their part to say a big "thank you!"

She and her family are deeply entwined with the local restaurant scene; Sam's sister, Charlie, manages Fresh Egg, and her brother, Matt, is one of the owners of Boatyard Eats.

Sam is originally from South Africa and moved to the U.S. in 1998. She has lived in Cornelius for 10 years now and loves the area for its laid-back feel and proximity to the city. She has been married for two wonderful years to her husband, Graham, and is a proud mom to her two kids, Marshall and Alexandra.

Sam is always looking for new ways to give back and believes that everyone should try to do what they can for their community. In the past, Sam has cooked meals for those at Hospitality House and has collected donations for Hope House and Ada Jenkins.

Her next big act of kindness will be hosting an Easter appreciation lunch for our first responders (lucky them!). If you'd like to contribute to this lunch, you can contact Sam here.

Thank you, Sam, for all you do! The Town and our Public Safety Departments are so grateful for your time, generosity, and your amazing food.

HOW WOULD YOU SPEND $9.6M?

AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT.png

That's a question that we need your help answering.

The Town of Cornelius will be receiving that amount of funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to be put towards improvements around and for our community.
