Free Daffodil Bulbs Available Starting Week of October 11
This fall, the Village is giving away free daffodil bulbs for residents to plant along public roads and right-of-ways. Planting bulbs is a way to pitch in and help maintain Long Grove’s beauty, while continuing the yearly tradition started by former Village President Robert Parker Coffin and his wife, Betty. Two types of bulbs are available; Dutch Master, a yellow bloom, or Fragrant Meadow, a mixture of yellow and white flowers. If you would like a bag of bulbs, email the Village’s Administrative Assistant Sherry Shlagman or call 847-634-9440 and provide your name and choice of bulbs. A bag will be marked with your name and set outside near the entrance to Village Hall to pick up at your convenience.

Be Sustainable When You Can!
Sustainability and protecting our planet is something each of us can take some responsibility for, which includes doing what we can to reduce the amount of plastics that end up in recycling bins. Experts say while we are well-intentioned in recycling them, most plastics end up in landfills. A simple step would be to bring reusable bags when shopping anywhere that uses plastic bags. For more tips on how to ‘quit plastic’ to help our environment, click here.
