Hey kiddos! Join us for STEM fun on Dec17!
Did you know? The Library now offers monthly Saturday STEM learning sessions for children: STEM Club for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade, and STEM Club Jr. for kids ages 3-5 (and their grown-ups). STEM/STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Each session will focus on a different topic and will include stories and hands-on experimentation. Kids might get a little messy, so dress accordingly!

Next up? Gingebread House Creations (a day-long, Open House-style event for both groups) on Saturday, December 17 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

For more info about STEM program dates, times, and topics, and to register, go to nkcpl.org.
And just a reminder! NKCPL offers a full slate of regular weekly Storytimes! While kiddos of all ages are welcome at Storytime, these sessions are especially geared toward preschool-aged littles. No registration required!

Join us on Tuesdays @ 5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays @ 10 a.m. for Pre-k Storytime. These sessions include read-alouds, songs/movement, and a super-simple craft/activity.

We also offer a Sensory Storytime on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month at 10 a.m. These sessions, geared toward neurodiverse pre-k-aged kiddos, feature fun read-alouds and lots of sensory play.

Questions about our regular or bonus/special Storytimes, or about other Library offerings for kids and families? Email Jennifer Shea at jshea@nkcpl.org.
Have littles? Looking for some fresh opportunities for creative, open-ended play? Join us for LEGO time at NKCPL, now offered twice weekly!

Drop in for LEGO fun (or stick around after Storytime) on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8 p.m., or join us from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday mornings. LEGOs are provided, and kiddos of all ages are welcome. No registration required!
Bring your WIP to a December Open Sew!
Working on a project or two for the holidays and need some time/space to sew? Drop in this month for some Open Sew time here at NKCPL! The sewing space will host Open Sew sessions on Wednesday, December 7, and Wednesday, December 14, both from 6-8:30 pm.

Instructor Patty Ibarra will be on hand to help you with whatever you're working on. Patty will also have materials/instrux for some project sewing (such as place mats, a gnome, a Christmas ornament, and so on), if you want to work on one of those items instead.

Register if you want to receive an email reminder for this Open Sew--or just drop in! Currently, these sessions are for adult sewists only.

For a full list of the Library's classes and events for adults (including crafting, Medicare, yoga options, and more), and to register for a class, go to nkcpl.org.
