Sea Pines CSA Board of Directors Meeting Held 3.29.2022
 
On Tuesday, March 29th, the Sea Pines CSA Board of Directors met and covered a number of important topics. A recap of the meeting action items, a link to the meeting video as well as timestamped links can be found here.

Revenue Task Force Update:

Additional data to support the recommendations of the Revenue Task Force was presented by Sea Pines CSA staff to the Board of Directors. The meeting video, the presentation made by staff, and the 11.16.21 Revenue Task Force Proposal are available on our website at www.SeaPinesLiving.com/funding.
 
The Board will take the time between now and their upcoming May 19th Board Meeting to continue to consider the presented information regarding Revenue Funding and encourages Members to review the information provided and to submit any questions or feedback to comments@csaseapines.com for their consideration. 
Wildlife Trapping Services Temporarily Suspended due to Staffing Issues

Due to staffing shortages, wildlife trapping services provided by The Sea Pines Security Department are being temporarily suspended until further notice.

For a wildlife-related trapping issue, please contact your preferred private wildlife trapping service provider.

RBC Heritage Hangtag Distribution Information
The road names listed below will have restricted access Monday, April 11th - Sunday, April 17th, during the RBC Heritage Tournament and will require a Heritage Hangtag for access. RBC Heritage Baynard Cove Road Closure April 6 – 19, 2022

The Television Compound for the 2022 RBC Heritage Golf Tournament will once again be located on Baynard Cove Road between Plantation Drive and Turnberry Lane.
Full Closure of Baynard Cove Road from Plantation Drive to Turnberry Lane will begin Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 6:00 AM and will last approximately 2 weeks to Tuesday, April 19, 2022.

  • During this closure, No Vehicles, Bicycles or Pedestrians will be allowed access to this portion of Baynard Cove Road.
  • Signage will be placed throughout the area and at various locations inside of Sea Pines to communicate project messages.

North Sea Pines Drive Phase 2 Major Roadway Reconstruction Update
North Sea Pines Drive Improvement Project Nearing Completion

  • Site cleanup, including roadside grading and landscape cleanup, is underway.
  • Installation of traffic and pedestrian signage is currently in progress.
  • Crews applied temporary line striping to the newly reconstructed and paved roadway and will return after the necessary curing period to complete permanent line striping and install roadway reflectors.
  • Milling and paving operations for Sandhill Crane Road will be scheduled at a future date.

Outdoor Power Equipment Blower Noise Policy Effective January 1, 2023
Effective next year, January 1, 2023, any individual or entity engaged in landscape maintenance or cleanup or removal for hire shall not utilize commercial-grade leaf blower equipment unless such equipment has been rated by the manufacturer specifications as operating at or below a maximum of 75 dBA (per American National Standards Institute (“ANSI”) Standards B175.2-2000 (R2005). Any leaf blower equipment used in the Sea Pines community after January 1, 2023 shall contain a label confirming such rating.

The policy shall not apply to landscape maintenance or cleanup on the following:

a. Golf courses;
b. Tennis facilities;
c. Stables;
d. Leisure trails;
e. Commercial Parking Areas or common areas owned by Commercial Owners;
f. Road rights of way;
g. Any Residential Property for purposes of cleanup only, following a named tropical storm, hurricane, or other major storms as declared by CSA, that directly affects Sea Pines;
h. Open space and lands managed or owned by CSA.

Important Reminders From Sea Pines CSA
Sea Pines CSA Beach Shuttle Service Began March 25, 2022
The Beach Shuttle will operate during the below timeframes from 9 AM- 5 PM, seven days a week, weather permitting.

  • March 25 – April 10: Lot 4 at Governors Road and Greenwood Drive
  • April 11 – April 17: No Beach Shuttle Service
  • April 18 – May 26: Lot 4 at Governors Road and Greenwood Drive
  • May 27 – September 5: Lot 8 near Fraser Circle on Greenwood Drive

Reminder- Face Coverings Required to Ride The Beach Shuttle

All passengers and trolley drivers are required to wear face coverings when aboard the trolley. Refusal to wear a mask or face covering or acting in an unsafe manner will result in denial of entry or expulsion from this service.

  • Short Term Rental Weekly pass purchased at Sea Pines Gate from March 25, 2022 - September 5, 2022: $22
Property Appearance Reminders
Land Use Rules and Regulations Reminders
  • Household items (e.g., coolers, bicycles, skateboards), yard maintenance equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, gas cans), and sports equipment (e.g., field sports equipment, basketballs, kayaks, canoes) must be stored out of public view when not actively in use. 

  • Trash cans and recycling bins shall be kept in service yards at all times. Curbside trash pickup is not provided in Sea Pines. Exceptions are outsized items such as broken-down packing cartons, which should be placed curbside just prior to expected pickup.

Spring Wildlife Reminders
Snakes are most active between April and October. Please take the below precautions to stay safe:

  • Never pick up or attempt to move a snake.
  • Never place your hands in holes.
  • Wear leather gloves if you have to handle debris, logs, rocks and other objects where a snake could be hiding.
  • Wear high boots, gaiters and thick pants when working or walking in grassy or wooded areas.
Please Read the Below Safety Precautions Regarding Alligators in our Community:
  • Assume every body of water contains an alligator
  • Stay at least 60 feet (4 car lengths) away from alligators
  • Alligators are ambush predators and can move faster than you or your pets
  • Keep pets and children away from water’s edge
  • Swimming or wading is prohibited in Sea Pines’ waterways
  • Feeding or harassing alligators is dangerous and illegal
  • When fishing or crabbing do not throw used bait or fish parts into the water

To report an aggressive or nuisance alligator or to report any safety concerns regarding alligators, please immediately contact the Sea Pines Security Department Dispatch Phone Line at 843.671.7170.
If you haven't done so already, we are asking all property managers to please make sure to share our Community Reminders Handout with your renters. We ask that you post this document in your rental unit so that renters are aware of our important rules and regulations while they visit Sea Pines.
