Site Council is Going Virtual - first meeting Wednesday September 16th, 6:30 p.m.
Site Council is going virtual -- if you've wanted to get more involved at the Middle School but meeting times / locations have been challenging, or you're new to the Middle School - now is the time to consider joining Site Council.
Who: Site Council is made up of school administration, teachers, and parents. We ask for your commitment in being able to attend at least 5 of the 7 meetings should you choose to join.
What:
- During Site Council meetings, we develop a plan on 3-4 focus areas and work on them in parent/teacher committees throughout the year. This year our focus areas are Communications, Student Recognition, Racial Equity, and Mental Health.
- We also hear from the Principals, a School Board Member and Department Chairs. In a typical year, we raise funds in September for field trips, Binder Buddy school supplies, global interns, and end-of-year parties. (Note: We have opted to forgo our major direct donation campaign at this time due to not spending many of the funds from last year. Watch OT News for some restaurant nights, sign up for Amazon Smile and download the Boxtops for Education app to claim dollars for our school.)
When: Site Council meets approximately seven times a year. This year we'll meet online Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. September 16, October 21, November 18, January 13, February 17, April 14 and May 12.
