Back to School Form

The Back to School Form, in your PowerSchool Parent Portal, includes important emergency contact information as well as the compliance form for the St. Francis DeSales High School Family Handbook and media release form.

The Back to School Form must be completed for each student by Tuesday, August 24th.

Summer Reading

All students are required to read one of the Summer Reading selections by the first day of school. Please choose one book to read from your class list.

Summer Reading Challenge: Where is Mr. Garrick reading today? Here is location #4. Remember to keep track of all the places Mr. Garrick is doing his summer reading, submit your answers at the beginning of the school year, and you may receive a prize!

Summer Assignments for AP Classes

Students in an Advanced Placement class are required to complete additional summer assignments. This includes English, World Languages, Science, Computer Science, Math, and Social Studies.

Stallions in the Spotlight

On Sunday, the annual Mass and Rosary Rally for CCL football teams was held at Christ the King Church. Pictured are members of the JV and Varsity teams, along with coaches, Mr. Garrick, Mr. Jones, and Bishop Brennan. Also in the photo are the Salesian Sisters who will be joining our school community this fall, working in the Campus Ministry department with Ms. Metzger.

Last month members of the SFD Ice Hockey team volunteered at the Homeless Families Foundation's Food Pantry. From cleaning and organizing to stocking and checking expiration dates, they made the pantry more functional for the staff and families. DeSales Ice Hockey: Come join the excitement!

If you are interested in playing for SFD’s varsity hockey team, there is no need to wait. The team’s off-season program is under way. This program is designed to get the team physically and mentally prepared for the winter hockey season. The off-season program includes both on-ice and off-ice conditioning sessions as well as team building activities between now and the beginning of the winter season. Out of This World

Members of Student Council met this summer, and after a few hours of brainstorming, they came up with this year's Homecoming theme: Out of This World! If you would like to be a part of the Homecoming Decoration committee (open to all students), please sign up here.

Cookout in the Courtyard - For Rising 7th and 8th Grade Students and Families

When: August 18; Check-in between 11:00-11:20am; the Orientation will start promptly at 11:30am.

Freshmen parents will join their students at 6pm in the school gymnasium for a prayer service, followed by a pizza social.

This Friday, the SFD Soccer programs are hosting Olentangy Berlin for OHSAA's Friday Night Futbol in Alumni Stadium! Any individual that brings in five canned goods will receive free admission into the game. Donations will benefit the St. James the Less Food Pantry.

Stallion Store is Open Again!

Saint Francis DeSales High School is pleased to offer a collection of made to order Stallion Gear to our community via an online shop in partnership with 2Horse Apparel. Use the link found here (Stallion Store August 2021) to access an assortment of products. The online shop will be open for orders until midnight on Sunday, August 22. Visit Stallion Store August 2021 today for your Stallion apparel needs! Products will ship to the address you designate in September when ordered by August 22. We are also very excited to offer all new Stallion Apparel at school in the Purcell Spirit Shop and at Friday night home football games. The Purcell Spirit Shop will be open with the new assortment on August 18 for Class of 2025 Orientation and during school days starting August 25.

Nurse's Notes

Incoming Senior Vaccines:

*All incoming SENIORS are required to submit verification of a second dose of the MCV4 (meningococcal) vaccine prior to the start of their senior year. It is a requirement for all incoming seniors in Ohio. Families can email the verification information to school nurse Kelli Fitzpatrick at fitzpatrick@desales.co or bring in a hard copy to school.

Safety Awareness

Our Community Liaison North Officer shared the following safety awareness message with our community: The Morse Road corridor from Easton heading west is seeing an alarming amount of strong-arm robberies. 161 is active as well but not as bad as Morse Rd. They are targeting individuals who carry purses while at gas pumps and while walking into some stores. There have been several of these where an assault has taken place.

Please do not leave cars running and walk 10 to 15 feet away while out at public locations.

Do not leave windows down with valuables in cars while at the gas pumps. Place valuables out of sight and lock your car.

BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS AT ALL TIMES.

Spiritual Reflection

Lord, our God, your deacon, Lawrence spent himself for the poor of the Church. Thus he merited martyrdom and was deemed worthy to receive an eternal reward. As Christians may we also accept our daily sufferings as a sign of our willingness to join our lives to the millions who have gone before us giving their lives freely for the sake of the kingdom. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
