SANDERS NAMED CHAIR OF LMI INSTITUTE
Executive Director Scott B. Sanders will chair the Labor Market Information (LMI) Institute Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 term beginning July 1, 2020. He served as the vice-chair over the past year for this NASWA partner with a mission to support and promote the production and use of high-quality workforce and employment information.

AT JFF HORIZONS CONFERENCE
Executive Director Scott B. Sanders spoke on a panel titled Unemployment Insurance - A Critical Economic Lifeline in Post-COVID America .

The session discussed how states are responding to the pandemic as well as conversations about what comes next for the nation's unemployment insurance system.

NASWA POLICY DIRECTOR PARTICIPATES
IN PANEL DISCUSSION
Veterans Policy Director Lori Adams participated in a panel discussion hosted by CVS Health Workforce Initiatives Military Talent Pipeline Group on June 30. Panelists discussed how their organizations partner with business and what businesses can do differently to serve the military community. Lori also discussed potential gaps in the relationship between military, health, education and employment. Other panelists included Lauren Lobrano, PVA; Mininia Hawkins, DoD/MSEP, and Lindsey Teplesky, Hiring Our Heroes.
NASWA POLICY DIRECTOR
JOINS INTERNATIONAL PANEL
The National Association of State Workforce Boards (NAWB) held "The Forum," an event for workforce development professionals and leaders in business, government, labor, and education. Policy Director, Julie Squire, joined the panel titled Unemployment and The Future of Work Post COVID-19: Perspectives from Europe and the United States. Discussion involved responses to unemployment post-COVID-19 and how the pandemic is changing long-term thinking about the future of work.

UI ITSC STEERING COMMITTEE VIRTUAL MEETING
T he Unemployment Insurance Information Technology Support Center (UI ITSC) Steering Committee met on June 18 and 24, 2020 virtually via Zoom.

The committee welcomed its newest member, Neil Shah (IA) and discussed IT challenges states are facing during the COVID-19 pandemic and implementation of the CARES Act programs.

Members include: Daryle Dudzinski (CT), Neil Shah (IA), Chair Jeff May (GA), Brett Flachsbarth (KS), Anna Hui (MO), Sue Anne Athens (NM), Kevin Burt (UT), Vice Chair William Walton (VA), Jim Garner (USDOL), and Subri Raman (USDOL).

The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced that it has more than 340 Work-Share Program plans with more than 14,000 worker participants.
