Mississippi Farmers Market
Saturdays 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m .

It's Finally Fall at the Mississippi Farmers Market!

Saturday is the first day of Autumn, and it could not have come at a better time.
Although the summer heat has returned after a few days of
mild temperatures, there is light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.
We know that any day now we will wake up to cool, brisk air.
The humidity will be searching for shelter, and
hopefully, it will hide and not seek for a long time.

The fall colors of yellow, orange, red and gold will be getting more predominate in
foliage, clothing and food (think candy corn - one of the lesser known food groups).
Color equals flavor, and at the Mississippi Farmers Market we have both!

Please join us at the Mississippi Farmers Market
this and every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
It's just the beginning of a colorful, flavorful and delightful fall season.

  • The hard-shelled ornamental gourds used for decoration have yellow flowers.
  • Varieties within this group are Apple, Bell, Egg and Crown of Thorns.
  • Ornamental gourds belong to the same botanical group as summer squash, and they do cross-pollinate.
  • Utility gourds, dipper and birdhouse have white flowers.
  • Gourds are grown the same way as muskmelons, cucumbers, squash and pumpkins.
