Spring Awards Night to take place in September- Date to come

One of the Spring semester awards events, Academic Awards Night, was canceled in May due to shelter in place.

The Academic Office at Serra will be putting together an awards ceremony for those recipients in the current sophomore, junior, and senior classes.

We anticipate that this event will be conducted virtually, very similarly to the Senior Awards Night for last year’s seniors which was so well received in May.

We anticipate that this event will take place in September and we will announce the exact date through Spotlight once it has been approved.
Serra Community Prayer Service
Serra students, faculty and staff participated in a virtual prayer service at 1:30 p.m. today, the first prayer service of our 2020-2021 school year. Students watched in their homerooms as Father Michael Liliedahl led the service.

Prayer services will take place throughout the year and we hope to share them with our Serra families.
Thank you to our Big Brothers!

Thank you to our Big Brothers! We want to express our gratitude for this year’s team of Big Brothers, which has done a phenomenal job in mentoring our new freshmen and transfer students!  Go Padres!
Mothers' and Fathers Club Early Bird Registration Extended

Parents are a vital part of the Padre community.  We hope you will consider joining one of our parent groups. The Mothers' Club and Fathers' Club are fantastic ways to stay connected and meet new people.

We have extended our Early Bird Special to August 23 for a chance to sign up for the Mothers' Club and Fathers' Club.  Don't be late! Prices go from $75 to $100 at midnight on August 24 !
Serra's 2019-2020 El Padre Yearbook to be Published and Delivered Soon
As many of you are probably aware, the shelter in place order in Spring 2020 affected our timeline for publishing and distributing the 2019-2020 El Padre Serra Yearbook. Not only was the yearbook team unable to complete their yearbook submission to the publisher, but many of the traditional spring semester events did not take place and thus could not be submitted. On top of that, the publisher was forced to shut down. Over the summer months, our yearbook moderator Mr. Lawrence Long worked to complete last year’s yearbook and submit it to our publisher where production has resumed. As soon as we have an expected delivery date and protocol for delivering the yearbooks we will notify parents through Spotlight. Last year’s graduates will be informed as well.
Back to School Night August 27

Back to School Night is scheduled for Thursday August 27 in the evening.

The administration is currently planning the event and will communicate more details by early that week.
A Note from Chef Ignacio

To all parents that use the Mypaymentsplus system, please be advised that all the accounts are currently set to zero due to the shutdown.  Once there is a proposed date for the return of the students to the cafeteria, I will reset all the accounts of the returning students back to the last amount they had before the shutdown.
If you have any questions feel free to Chef Ignacio Dominguez.
