On Friday, November 22 a concert by organist Nathan Laube will mark the fourth anniversary of the dedication of our Andrew Pipe Organ.

Mr. Laube is Associate Professor of Organ at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, and International Consultant in Organ Studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the United Kingdom.

His program that evening will feature works by Willan, Duruflé, Roger-Ducasse, and his own transcription of Les Préludes, Poème Symphonique No. 3 by Liszt.

One of our annual Family Night favorites is on the calendar for November: It’s Animal Family Night time!

Our favorite furry friends will return this coming Friday evening when we again welcome Animals for Awareness, which in the past has brought animals such as a fennec fox, a coatimundi, a kinkajou, and a giant tortoise. We look forward to seeing who might come this year!

Families are invited to join us for games and crafts in Borwell Dining Room, with dinner at 5:45 p.m., and the animal show beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Anderson Hall.

In this season of gratitude and giving, we invite you to join us in sharing Christmas joy with those in need.

Holiday Bags are being collected for guests of Sunday and Monday Night Suppers. A list of needed items as well as bags to decorate are available at the Meals Ministry cart during Coffee Hour. Filled bags are needed by Sunday, December 8.

The annual “ Christmas Wishes” gift project, sponsored by Women at Fourth, collects gifts for Chicago Lights Tutoring students who might not otherwise receive one. Wish lists are available at Coffee Hour and from Anne Ellis.
Remember loved ones and recognize those who are special in your life with contributions toward the purchase of Christmas flowers and garlands to decorate the Sanctuary and Buchanan Chapel this year.

A list of those remembered will be printed in the Christmas bulletin. Contributions must be received by Sunday, December 8 in order for names to be included in that bulletin.

In January we are going to celebrate the diversity of our Fourth Church families with a photo exhibit––and we need your help.

We invite you to submit your favorite family photo––a candid shot that captures a special moment of family fun, love, or tradition––along with a brief caption (sixty words or less).

All photos submitted by Sunday, December 15 will be featured in a slide show during Coffee Hour on Sunday, January 12.

Additionally, from among the submissions, fifty photos showcasing the wide diversity of our Fourth Church families will also be selected, framed, and displayed in the Loggia Gallery from January 6 through February 26.

To submit your photo, please send it at the highest resolution you can to FamilyPhotos by Sunday, December 15.

Please note: Submission of photos constitutes permission and release by all family members shown in the photo for the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago to use the images in digital display during Coffee Hour on January 12, 2020; in physical gallery display in the Fourth Church Loggia from January 6 through February 26, 2020; and in any promotion of those exhibits.

We look forward to celebrating together “Fourth Church: One Family”!
