CAMARILLO, Calif. – The public is invited to join Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) and Vitalant for their second hosted Blood Drive on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 8:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The Bloodmobile will be located at 265 Durley Avenue , on the Camarillo Airport grounds, to support the vital needs of the county.

Recently, VCFD and Vitalant held a very successful blood drive on June 18th collecting 19 pints of lifesaving blood.

This was the first blood drive to use two bloodmobiles since the onset of COVID-19. The dual bloodmobiles ensured safety precautions were in place and the was able to operate within the CDC and County Health guidelines to ensure the public's safety.

Safety precautions to ensure a safe donation experience include:
• Two bloodmobiles to allow for social distancing requirements.
• Following rigorous safety and disinfection protocols at blood drives and donation centers.
• Vitalant is taking temperatures upon entry of the donation center/blood drive.
• Masks are required.

Vitalant , one of the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit community blood service providers, supplies comprehensive transfusion medicine services to nearly 1,000 hospitals and health care partners for patients in need across 40 states.

As a major blood provider in Ventura County, Vitalant depends on volunteer blood donors to maintain adequate supplies to meet the needs of the communities it serves. All blood types are needed. Your donation will help Vitalant keep an ample blood supply for everyday needs and emergencies.
