CAMARILLO, Calif. –
The public is invited to join
Ventura County Fire Department
(VCFD) and Vitalant for their second hosted Blood Drive on
Friday, July 17, 2020
from 8:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The Bloodmobile will be located at
265 Durley Avenue
, on the Camarillo Airport grounds, to support the vital needs of the county.
Recently, VCFD and Vitalant held a very successful blood drive on June 18th collecting 19 pints of lifesaving blood.
This was the first blood drive to use two bloodmobiles since the onset of COVID-19. The dual bloodmobiles ensured safety precautions were in place and the was able to operate within the
CDC
and
County Health guidelines
to ensure the public's safety.
Safety precautions to ensure a safe donation experience include:
• Two bloodmobiles to allow for social distancing requirements.
• Following rigorous safety and disinfection protocols at blood drives and donation centers.
• Vitalant is taking temperatures upon entry of the donation center/blood drive.
• Masks are required.
