THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES

SUKKOT – PART 6

THE WATER OF CLEANSING

We spoke how in the Days of Awe (between Rosh Ha Shanah and Atonement) that two rituals were sometimes practiced demonstrating the relationship between water and the cleansing from sin.

One was where they would cast stones into a body of water. Each stone represented casting a sin into the depths of the sea never to be remembered again by God.

The other was the baptism by immersion into a body (or pool) of water as symbol of burying their sins and “resurrecting” clean of sin.

Sukkot also had its special ritual relating to the sin cleansing symbolism of water. It featured the pool of Siloam, a reservoir fed by the spring of Gihon from “the City of David,” Bethlehem.

The High Priest would carry an empty water pitcher from the Temple in Jerusalem to the town of Bethlehem, Yeshua’s birthplace, where Jesus had “tabernacled” among us in human flesh (incarnated). The priest would fill the pitcher with water from the Pool of Siloam. The people would follow him to Bethlehem rejoicing all along the way. The priest would then carry the pitcher of water back to the Temple in Jerusalem as the people continued to follow him rejoicing and praising God. Upon arrival at the Temple, the priest would pour out the water at the altar. This foreshadowed Jesus, the “living water” (John 4:10) being poured out at the altar of heaven via his crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension.

The Jews probably did not understand the prophetic implications of their ritual, but it is one more Old Testament prophecy that was fulfilled in the work of Messiah from His birth in Bethlehem where His life did “spring” from, to His “pouring out” at Jerusalem. Jesus is Himself the High Priest and this symbolized His journey and His mission on earth. He, “the Living Water,” cleansed our sin.

We as Christians can understand and appreciate this Sukkot ritual in remembrance of what Christ did for us.

SEEING WHAT YOU SAY

When it comes to faith, it is received without seeing. You must see it in your spirit and believe that it is from God according to the scriptures. If we can see it then it doesn’t take faith to receive it.

We are told in scripture in Hebrews 10:38, “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back (from faith) my soul shall have no pleasure in him.” This is a quote from the Book of Habakkuk 2:4 where it says, “… but the just shall live by his faith.”

Hebrews 6:15 says, “And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” This verse is speaking of Abraham. Now consider his situation. He was nearly a hundred years old and his body for procreation was dead. His wife’s body was past the years of childbearing, so her body was dead to receive the seed of procreation. Since her husband couldn’t give her seed there was no way that they could have a child. It was impossible. Yet, God told Abraham he would have children, and they would be more than all the stars and the sand on the beach. Now that is quite a promise to someone that couldn’t procreate.

Abraham chose to believe God. He determined not to say what he saw with his natural eyes, which was a dead body, but instead chose to start speaking what God said, and in his spirit see this coming to pass. He chose to “see” what he would say. This is faith.

Whatever it is that you need, whether it is financial help, healing in your body, a new job, a car, a home, a ministry, in the natural it may look impossible. There is no way to pay your bills or be healed. You may have even been given a death sentence from a doctor. This is not the time to believe what you see. It is time to say or speak the promises of God over your situation. You must see it before you receive it. That is the law of faith.

If you have been speaking what you “see” in the natural, you might be cursing yourself. I did this years ago, and I had to repent. If that is the case with you, then you must repent also, and allow God to work the situation out. Remember, it says we must patiently endure until we receive the promise. That takes faith, but you must remember without that kind of faith you can’t please God.

Change what you say by changing what you see, and you will reap the results!

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

Are you surprised at the shaking going on in your life? You shouldn't be. God is allowing the shaking to prepare us for his coming. He wants us to take this time and carefully examine our hearts to make sure there is nothing that separates us from Him. You may not like the shaking, but it is absolutely necessary. Let this be a time of faith rising in your life and be all God has created you to be.

God still speaks through his prophets.

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

9-24-2021

Don’t you think it’s about time to let the bricks of your past go? For you’ll never be able to build a happy, victorious and solid relationship; Regardless if it’s with a friend, a fellow worker, a church or romantic relationship...IF you’re always trying to use the same old bricks from your past. Like my precious Mama and Daddy used to say...”Just let the old sleeping dog lay". Now I must say way back then I didn’t have a clue what that meant. However, today I fully understand what they were saying. Sometimes you just gotta let the past go; Or as my parents so wisely said, “Honey just let the old sleeping dog lay”. Yes, there comes a time when you must simply...Let it ALL GO...And live in the NOW; While prayerfully and carefully preparing for your promised future. It would help you greatly to always remember...IF you continue trying to carry ANY part of your past relationships on with you to the new one; You will inevitably end up attempting to build the very same relationship you’ve had before; And remember it wasn’t ever strong enough to last through the storms back then...And it still won’t today
