Good Afternoon Residents -
Finally, our "light at the end of the tunnel" appears to be growing bigger - but - for it to continue, we must remember to stay diligent and follow social distancing rules. Wash your hands with soap and water and wear a mask, especially when you are unable to stay 6 feet apart. We're nearing the end of "Staying in Place", lets keep going in the right direction.
Phase 3 opened up last Tuesday and with it came indoor dining and personal care! Ladies - your wish has been granted - hair and mani/pedi appointments can now be made. Next up, provided the metrics keep going in the right direction - Phase 4. And while I know that malls, movie theaters, gyms/fitness centers and bowling alley starts have been delayed, I am confident that those industries won't be too far behind.
Some more good news to celebrate - as you all know, parks are open, however the restrooms remain closed. Playgrounds are opening up on July 1st. On June 29th the picnic tables are going out. Permits for sports activities will hopefully start on July 6th.
And the Orangetown Department of Parks and Recreation will be holding smaller stand alone and 2 - 3 hour programs that will keep campers and their staff safe. They are hoping to start in mid July.
Stay safe everyone - just a few more days left of June and then - onto July, where summer vacations begin.

Palisades Free Library
The Palisades Library began in 1891 and
was housed in different buildings over the years.
In 1947, the Palisades Free Library received its temporary charter from the New York State Board of Education and its absolute charter in 1949. While the library was now open to all, it still depended on the services of volunteers and donations of members. It was not until 1962 with the creation of the Orangetown Library District that the Palisades Free Library received tax dollars.
