President's Message
From our President, Bernadette Kessler

2019-2020 has brought the challenges of Covid-19 and the impact has been felt throughout our community. We are very grateful for the unwavering commitment of our members, sponsors, and underwriters in embracing alternative ways of holding events with virtual performances and meetings in addition to in-person events, guided by the CDC recommendations. We look forward to our new season and thank you all for being an invaluable member and supporter of CNYAMT!

Of special note:
Welcome to our 3 new Board Members:
Kim Farrell, Robbie Padilla, and Jane Wolfe.

Thanks to the Syracuse Sounds of Music Association,
we were able to repurpose our Music Camp Tuition Assistance Grant to provide assistance for summer music lessons to students whose families have been financially impacted by the coronavirus.
CNYAMT Zoom Board Meeting

We invite all members to join our next Board Meeting: Wednesday, September 9th, 9:30 a.m.

Tuition Assistance for Students
This year, summer music camps were cancelled, and with special thanks to the Syracuse Sounds of Music Association, the Tuition Assistance Committee was able re-purpose these funds towards the cost of summer private music lesson fees for families experiencing the economic hardships.

CNYAMT has limited funds for student stipends towards private music lessons for this fall semester. These funds can be applied towards payment of private music lesson tuition and will be evenly dispersed among applicants.

The amount of the award is based on our availability of funds, as well as the applicant’s referral from their CNYAMT teacher. Awards will be distributed across applications on a rotating basis, one student at a time per teacher.

Eligibility:
  • Teacher must be a current 2020-21 CNYAMT member.
  • Teacher and student must be active participants in our yearly events.
  • Teacher must be the instructor of the major instrument the applicant will study.

The deadline for applications is September 10, 2020.
