WALK FOR WATER NOVEMBER 12
FROM THE SENIOR WARDEN
The November Vestry meeting was a quiet affair, focusing on digesting reports including updates on the on-going Stewardship campaign, the kitchen and sacristy renovations and the recent Diocesan Convention. Stewardship results are exciting (increases in pledges and the number of pledgers were the headlines); the kitchen work should be completed in mid-December; and our own Rev. Biddy was elected to a Diocesan leadership position. We are pleased to be supportive of our Diocese and are proud of our Rector.

The Vestry will be sharing with the congregation at successive adult forums in January our assessment of the progress we’re making in our strategic plan and also how we will steward your financial support via a deep dive into the operating budget. These sessions will allow for more detail and conversation than can occur at the Annual Meeting. We would like to have large turnout (free beer!) so these important components of our church life can be shared, so please be on the lookout for these meetings early next year.

We took a moment to reflect on the many activities underway (outlined in the comprehensive and still very useful Find Your Place- Saint Paul’s Church Program Guide) and the high level of parishioner engagement once again in our Church life. There is much for us to be thankful for post pandemic, and yet we need to recognize that nothing is static, and we need to begin to ask the questions that take us further. These questions center on ascertaining “what is God up to here at Saint Paul’s?” and “what is the Holy Spirit leading us to do?” and not just on objective measures that derive from the basic “how are we doing?”. If we are now called to be a little bit different from what we were in 2019, focusing too much on our current successes, no matter how well deserved, can cause us to miss how God is shaping the future for the congregation, the clergy and staff. The Holy Spirit is within all of us and with us at Saint Pauls’ and we are opening our ears and hearts to hear how our church will look and act in the future.

Saint Paul's Nursery is OPEN this Sunday

We are pleased to announce that the Saint Paul’s nursery is open for children 6 months to 4 years of age. The nursery will be available this Sunday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. to allow parents to attend formation.

We are currently understaffed in the Nursery and are in the process of hiring two nursery caregivers. Because we cannot open the nursery without two trained caregivers, we are communicating the nursery schedule to parents weekly. If you are not receiving our nursery email, please contact the parish office. If you can recommend a candidate for our nursery, please let us know that as well.
