Ray-Pec Board Secretary leads session on teamwork
Pam Steele, Secretary to the Ray-Pec School Board, led an educational session this week for school board secretaries across the state.
Steele joined forces with Susan Brooker, Board Secretary for the Harrisonville School District, to lead the session titled "Teamwork - Support Groups for the Educational Office Professional."
The Sept. 24 session was part of the Missouri School Boards Association Board Secretary Workshop. This year, the annual workshop was a virtual event.
Both Steele and Brooker hold dual roles in their districts. In addition to serving as school board secretary, Steele is also Executive Assistant to the Superintendent, and Brooker is the Superintendent's Secretary.
Steele and Brooker are active members and have held leadership positions in professional organizations at the county, state, and national level, including the Cass County Association of Educational Office Professionals, the Missouri Association of Educational Office Professionals, and the National Association of Educational Office Professionals. They also are members of the Greater Kansas City School Administrative Assistants Association.
In their online session, Steele and Brooker emphasized the value of professional associations for networking and learning opportunities. They also described the paths to become a Certified Educational Office Employee (CEOE) and a Certified Educational Support Employee (CESE). |
