Character Devotions By Jack Nuzum:
Jesus, The All In All

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation…For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.” (Colossians 1: 15, 19-20)

So, having reviewed some key character types in the Bible, let’s see how Jesus, the complete human, both the Son of Man and Son of God, exhibits characteristics of each... Click here to read the full article.
New Giving Software :

When you click the give button online, you will now be brought to a new payment page. On this page, you will be able to give the new way through PushPay, or give the old way through Shelby. We encourage everyone to try our new pay system and please email treasurer@stjohns-abq.org with any questions.
Building Community at the Border June 3

We are so fortunate to host Cindy Andrade Johnson, a United Methodist Deaconess in Brownsville, Texas, for our Thursday, June 3rd UMW meeting, via Zoom, at 1 p.m. Cindy has been the "bridge" linking hundreds of migrants to generous United Methodists around the country. These people live in deplorable conditions under the Matamoras Bridge in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. Cindy has been an educator for about 30 years; she prioritizes and emphasizes cultural competency through education, and she works with migrants all over the United States, the border, and Mexico. Cindy works weekly in the migrant camp across the border in Matamoras, delivering medicine and communicating with them. This meeting is open to everyone, so please encourage spouses, guests, and friends to attend. If you have questions about the border situation for our speaker, or if you'd like the Zoom link for this meeting, we ask that you email Regina Hampton at hamptonmason1@msn.com ahead of the meeting. This is an issue that weighs heavily on our hearts and minds these days, so let's take this opportunity to learn together.

May Special Offering: Navajo Water Project and UMC Native American Ministries

One in three Navajo families in the Four Corners Area have no sinks or toilets in their homes, something we all take for granted. The indigenous led Navajo Water Project, part of the larger Dig Deep water project works to remedy this problem. It has installed hundreds water systems in homes without access to water or sewer lines.  The project also provides well-paying jobs in the community. During Covid 19 it has also provided emergency water to 30,000 people, literally saving lives.

And a bit further from home, one Sioux tribe in South Dakota is 60 to 90 miles from the nearest substantial grocery store and was still recovering from a flood in 2019 when the pandemic hit. So the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference, part of the UMC Native American Ministries, sent a grant to the tribe to purchase and deliver food and supplies to this hard hit area.

Beyond times of crisis, UMC Native American Ministries provides help to revitalize Native American churches with outreach and salary support, funds for building repairs and seminary scholarships. In May we have the opportunity to help our Native American brothers and sisters via both of these fine programs. Please give generously.

Virtual Prayer Quilt

Patricia Newman is the recipient for the prayer quilt currently on display.
