“Mabon: Strength Amid the Isolation”
~ Joe Gonzalez, guest speaker
Mabon is a modern Pagan ritual of thanksgiving for the fruits of the earth, and a recognition of the need to share them to secure the blessings of the Goddess and the God during the coming winter months. As we slowly emerge from our isolation and begin preparing for the colder weather, we will be taking part in a ritual that will help us explore how to deal with goals unmet this year while still being able to share our core strength with those around us who need it. Joe Gonzalez and wife Tara Fleck are a Wiccan High Priest and Priestess, and former members of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Stamford, where they formed the Sacred Circle Pagan Group and led quarterly pagan rituals during Sunday services. They are now Friends of CUUC, and Joe is a proud member of the Religious Education Council. Tara and Joe have taught Wiccan lessons as part of CUUC’s RE program, where their kids Norah (10) and Austin (7) are students. Ethan (17) completed his Coming of Age three years ago.

Share the Plate: WCC Student Emergency Fund
In September we share half our non-pledge collection with the Westchester Community College Foundation Student Emergency Fund. In these unprecedented times, WCC students who are low income are facing unanticipated hardships. Our donations will help meet their immediate needs, covering expenses such as food, laptops, online access, and rent so these students can continue their education during this challenging period.
